I just bought 2x4gb 1600MHz RAM as in my siggy. But when installed on my asus mobo, it only shows the default value, which is only 1333MHz 9-9-9-24. I already googled how to change it to 1600MHz, and most answers says that can change to XMP profile. So it can run at 1600MHz.

I am stuck here, since i didn't know where XMP profile can be set, or set manually in bios. I already play around with bios, which is set DRAM Freq to 800MHz (Max in my bios) and DRAM overvoltage to 1.65V. Other value i set [Auto].. The result is i get is 1600MHz 11-11-11-29. It is good?..

I found in this topic from ahsiah

  - DRAM Frequency = Max 800MHz in bios
  - DRAM Timing Control = ?
   - CAS# Latency = ?
   - RAS# to CAS# Delay = ?
   - RAS# Precharge = ?
   - RAS# Activate to Precharge = ?
   - TWR = ?
   - TRFC = ?
   - TWTR = ?
   - TRRD = ?
   - TRTP = ?
  - DRAM Static Read Control = ?

What value suppose i put in?.. Need help.. Noobie here.. rclxub.gif

I'm using Asus mobo too.
To set the RAM to XMP profile, go to AI Tweaker section of the BIOS.
Change the value in Ai Overclock Tuner option where you can see its available options are Manual, Auto, D.O.C.P, X.M.P., CPU Level Up.
Just change the value to XMP.

Hopefully i have the AI Tweaker in my asus mobo. but i dont have.. sad.gif

My bios Tab is like this

Under Advanced Tab have this (copy from ahsiah page) and it exactly the same.

Did you mean this model: M4A785TD-M EVO

If yes, you're unlucky because this motherboard does not support XMP.
I guess you have to manually overclock it then.
When overclock, you can try to set the value the same as the XMP value.

I think you got it right because XMP is introduced by Intel...

normally its 1600 9-9-9-24..

so u set it like this if XMP is absent:

  - DRAM Frequency
  - DRAM Timing Control
   - CAS# Latency - 9
   - RAS# to CAS# Delay - 9
   - RAS# Precharge - 9
   - RAS# Activate to Precharge - 24

*if im not mistaken of the name it represent  hmm.gif
