Hmm checkrom still serving me well, gonna hold up on ICS for abit until later on
Apart from some nifty features here and there, I think it's alot of aesthetics that's the big buzz, not a big deal to me. Ah if only checkrom V5 with jkay is out |

QUOTE(ashwin1234 @ Jan 26 2012, 10:22 AM) I don't see why there are so many people still on CheckROM and even more trying to use it. Criskelo's ROM is equal or better in every aspect and can even do more stuff. The wifi issue I had was only present in CheckROM which is supposed to be a very developed ROM while the wifi worked in CM9 which is considered pre-alpha. Haha good question. Just lazy to change I guess? Hmm I'll go have a look at it.Plus, CheckROM is KK5 while Criskelo is already KL1. All the themes and mods that I spent hours downloading and like 8 reboots to recovery to apply in the correct sequence are already implemented into Criskelo's ROM by default. Oh btw what wifi issue? Edit : Dono if I'm looking at the right thing, but it's an ICS themed rom by default? This post has been edited by ellimist: Jan 26 2012, 10:27 AM |

QUOTE(ashwin1234 @ Jan 26 2012, 10:34 AM) I could not connect to my college wifi which used 802.11-EAP. I even tried replacing all the wifi system files in CheckROM with the one's which I had taken from Criskelo. Nothing worked. Hmm ok, will explore it a little.Plus, Criskelo comes with this app that allows you to decide what app starts when you double-tap the home button. Yeah, it is ICS themed by default, but you can always flash other themes if it is compatible with the jkay version. I flashed the ICS theme in my siggy and it works perfectly. Ah that's a known problem for checkrom? Gotta give it a go one of these days |

QUOTE(sebastianX11 @ Jan 27 2012, 11:30 AM) guys, any version of Siyah Kernel is recommended Whichever way should be fine. Since you're gonna flash a kernal, do that first, then thunderbolt (follow instructions)i know got changelog but im always skeptical about the latest kernel.... i wanna try thunderbolt too...so should i use thunderbolt first or use flash kernel first or the whole thing have to re done for thunderbolt after flashing a new rom? After u flash a kernal or whatever in the future, follow pikachu's xda thread (think 2nd post, or further down in first post) which tells you to go to particular folders to see if certain files there, or run something in terminal emulator, do determine if tb is there |

QUOTE(Nixdorf @ Jan 27 2012, 11:39 AM) I'm on the latest version. I thought my screen is big that's why sucks lots of battery but the problem is this is AMOLED, should be saving more energy isn;t it and I din't scale up my brightness. Everyday fully charge, the next day I wake up sure left 30%..... everyday is charging phone man. Damn I wanna go Samsung there diao them haha Doesn't sound normal if you lose 30% while sleeping. Even on stock and G version and everything, shouldn't drop that much if you manage properly. You probably want to diagnose what exactly is causing the drop first, rather than going over to Samsung. As a start, fully charge, leave it, when drop 30% report back what your battery usage menu says, and proly download betterbatterystats from xda forum to see what's using so much juice Added on January 27, 2012, 11:43 am QUOTE(sebastianX11 @ Jan 27 2012, 11:40 AM) Truth be told, flashing kernal and thunderbolt are nice quick procedures, unlike say, flashing new rom from wipe and restoring ur shizo from titanium and what nots So just be careful and follow instructions properly, and all should go well in just a few mins This post has been edited by ellimist: Jan 27 2012, 11:44 AM |

Well if you have syncs and location services such as latitude running in the background, think it's normal to get wakes in the background with screen off.
I use BLN, think that contributes to kernal wakelocks But I do schedule it to disable past midnight |
