Hi to all expert,

Just want to ask does your S2 battery drain very fast? I was like charging everyday, like 3 times a day sad.gif Even if i didn;t use the phone when I sleep, the next day i open it, it left 20% sad.gif Man it is drop from 89% to 20%!!! sad.gif

Only use whatsapp. No gaming and less website surfing and call unless necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Nixdorf, check your battery usage.
See what apps causing it.

Also list down things like
ROM
Kernel
Modem
this may help us better identify the problem.
*
Model: GT-I9100G
ROM: not sure how to check
Kernel: 2.6.35.7
Modem : not sure how to check

QUOTE(reijikageyama @ Jan 27 2012, 10:03 AM)
any ahem apps installed? do you leave wifi/3g on the whole time?
*
I worry those apps will sucks my battery so whenever I didn't use it I kill it. Like facebook and web browser apps.

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 27 2012, 10:05 AM)
what "ahem" apps?

Even with wifi and 3G on all the time, it shouldn't drop 69% overnight.
*
I seldom turn on 3G and only use Wifi. If I turn on 3G the battery will end even fast!. I leave my Wifi turn on and overnight it. You know when I fully charge at 10am, around 3pm I have to charge again sad.gif I'm wondering how a business man going to use this phone to make call if the battery end that fast!

@nixdorf

Your phone is the 9100G, not the original S2.

So I won't have much experience.

But the modem can be found
Setting -> about phone -> baseband version

ROM
Setting -> about phone -> Build number / android version

Kernel version, besides any numbers do you see anything else?

Is everything stock? If so, then need to seek help from other 9100G users.

Added on January 27, 2012, 10:15 amBtw, have you tried rebooting your phone?
*
Thanks.

Modem: I9100GDZKJ2

ROM:
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.DZKJ2
Android Version 2.3.6

QUOTE(reijikageyama @ Jan 27 2012, 10:32 AM)
ahem apps  = pirated apps
probably due to his frequent usage of app killers too? hmm.gif
*

Technically yes, AMOLED would be a lot more power efficient than S-LCD...

You lost 70% battery life overnight? shakehead.gif

What was your phone doing overnight?

Wifi/3g on?
Email/accounts auto sync?
Too many active apps running?
GPS on?
Bluetooth?

Come post your screenshot.. as I can't believe it
*
Weird isn't it, I only turn on my WiFi and Whatsapp. No more others. If I turn off Wifi, it will from from 100% to 60%. I'm charging my phone everyday!!!! sad.gif aduh..... I will downlaod the batterystate as recommend by other forumer here to have a look.

I have latitude perpetually on, but doubt I drain as much as what he says he was draining. I know they apparently improved batt life on 6.1.0 onwards. Wanted to see what version he's using.

But yea, network location wise draining a truck load for him

@nicregi : I see what you mean by the CWM having more intuitive interface, nice. Especially useful when flashing loadsa addons from thunderbolt laugh.gif

Added on January 27, 2012, 1:07 pm

Either :

1. Sign out of latitude as suggested
2. Upload your google maps, let it run a while with latitude, and report back if got improvement
*
Ah I never know I have that latitude turn on . Ok I have off it now and see if any improvement. Thanks for your advice!

*
