QUOTE(nicregi @ Jan 27 2012, 04:16 PM) Guys reverting back to CheckROM v5. Too much work for HyperDroid. Don't feel it is very userfriendly and slightly more laggy compared to CheckROM. Damn I am one sided~ Back to majority V5 with the siberian tiger theme can get some Jkay functionality like the settings quick bar? Actually JKay wise that's mainly what I use lol |

QUOTE(nicregi @ Jan 27 2012, 04:32 PM) Laggy as it when playing with apps, multitasking etc etc. A little laggy. Nice protection Thumbs up for the colours, background etc etc. I feel their OTA is better than CheckROM's one and in fact, one of the best I seen. Using DOC Surgeon and I felt something is wrong. I mean the screen is a little....weird. Some spots are empty but when you click, nothing pops up as if there is something there. Hard to explain. The worst part, changing a theme need a full wipe =.=" Of course, when you first install HyperDroid, followed by Siyah, Voltage control and Thunderbolt, EXPECT super lag. After all the configuration done, then you will feel much better. If not lagy shyt in the middle of the process. I see great opportunity and even pretty good ROM I got to say for HyperDroid and definitely going back for more. Just wipe full my phone and thinking what should I do. Go back CheckROM? Try HyperDroid again? Here's the photo of my OtterBox. Putting in the Silicon Case is easy. The metal case thingy is tough! Virgin Buttons felt pretty cool but phone is bulky. Don't mind but really feel some sort of protection. Guys, between Go Launcher vs ADW Ex, which do you prefer? Thinking of getting ADW..... I liked Go Launcher, give it a go first? Free somemore right QUOTE(Nixdorf @ Jan 27 2012, 04:34 PM) hrm....it doesn;t seems to have any improvement even thought I have turn off the Latitute. not sure how to see the state so I post here. No improvement? Can't be wor. How much did your batt go down since you unplugged? Do remember you had your screen on for 30 mins oredi since unplugged |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jan 27 2012, 05:15 PM) Umm, there are different screenstate_scaling addons? >.< where?? Which LMK size would you recommend for good multitasking with decent performance?Nope, multitasking capabilities will still be there. SGSII has a big amount of RAM, so don't worry about multitasking Delete: 05module 90ram-tweaks 98mounts 99complete I must say, ROM developers nowadays .... :/ Just simply slapping scripts into init.d without knowing what they do. Sigh.. Added on January 27, 2012, 5:16 pm Yeah, higher LMK reduces multitasking a bit, but with 1GB of RAM, don't have to worry that much erymanthus is a girl? >.< What's it on default anyways? (without addon). Or that's a completely different thing |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jan 27 2012, 05:27 PM) I use stock ROM>.< Most stable and easiest to mod after that. But some functionality tweaks can embed into rom, and you'll do it without screwing up other stuff maDon't want to fool people by downloading 300MB when you can download 20MB and still get the same thing in the end :/ Why thank god for me? >.< Yaeh. Newer version Then one shot embed your full tweaks into it. One stop sollution |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jan 27 2012, 05:32 PM) By default it's a 32MB LMK (which is too low) with a ADJ/MEM for Dalvik and Linux LMK which is too aggressive at some parts and underaggressive at other parts. Ahhh thanks! Heading over to download your 80MB LMK now ThunderBolt!'s LMK ensures that even if you run out of memory, the correct apps are killed/cache emptied at the appropriate levels. For SGSII, 80MB LMK is good So should be able to multitask well still right? (well actually not that I multitask that much. Say playing a game then switch out to read n send whatsapp, then back to game. among other stuff) Edit : Proly need to google some stuff, some of it abit tak faham oredi Added on January 27, 2012, 5:36 pm QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jan 27 2012, 05:33 PM) Yeah Hmm true that. Starting to learn alot, especially since we're asking you what the tweaks do before installing it.Yeah, that's true. However, I'm a proponent of users having to install the tweaks themselves so that they themselves know what they're putting into their phone. Knowledge is power. That's what XDA is about (initially I think). Nowadays, devs tend to want to dumb users down and sell them snake oil :S Thanks for all the advice man This post has been edited by ellimist: Jan 27 2012, 05:37 PM |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jan 27 2012, 05:38 PM) Yeah. With 80MB (and SGSII's 1GB of RAM). Multitasking should still be good. You'll have to run multiple games at once to face some serious issues with it. Ah ok, thanks! You can read Android Optimization Tips to see the tips I've collected so far. Good information for starters. Can easily fend off bullshit from kiddy devs who don't know a thing (hint Phoenix). Guess that's a place to start, all this is rather new to me, fortunately abit tech savvy, if not head tenggelam oredi. Oh btw, I already have other tweaks and all running, I just flash LMK n reboot right. No need to rerun scripts and all? |

QUOTE(Shizuru @ Jan 27 2012, 05:49 PM) do I need to do these steps when flashing addons? When you explore the zip you'll see where the files are going to. So you need to mount those I believeMount /data, /system and /sdcard in CWM (IMPORTANT!) (When mounted, it will show "unmount /system" for example. This means that an unmounted partition will show a "mount /system" for the /system partition) |

QUOTE(Shizuru @ Jan 27 2012, 05:51 PM) Um no. As in you know, when you download to your computer. Then no need unzip just buka tengok, you'll see the folders in there (eg : system folder, then that's where those files are going)To be safe you can mount all those mentioned I guess |

Wah glanced through the android optimization thread, complexnya
Erm pikachu, few questions: 1. Difference from odexed and deodexed noticeable? Considering now I use your tweaks, switching back to odexed rom I'll still get some smoothness gain? In terms of UI or apps launching or..? 2. With your tweaks, journaling is still on right although barriers is off? (you seem to talk about journaling more, not sure what the difference is) 3. You mentioned something about fsync off leading to potential data corruption. Under coming soon you mentioned "A better way of Recompiling libsqlite.so removing fsyncs (safer?) - DONE". Are the 2 related? Sorry for the weird questions, rather interested after glancing through your thread o.o This post has been edited by ellimist: Jan 27 2012, 06:09 PM |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ Jan 27 2012, 06:34 PM) Hmm, lots of init.d scripts (but no ThunderBolt! ?). Ah ok, thanksMy take is to remove all the init.d scripts (back it up somewhere) and then install ThunderBolt!. See if you still get the random reboots or not Read it slowly. Anything you don't understand, just post here It's not that noticeable, but I guess odexed is still the way to go since its the most optimized. Yes. Journaling is still on, but with barriers off. Journaling is the main protection, while barrier is the addon. Yeah, sort of related. Hence why I gave a warning that libsqlite can cause corruption. It's rare, but its a risk that you need to know of. Umm, OMAP4 device needed. SGSII is an Exynos device? Hmm meaning the recompiled sqlite you did under 'coming soon' has still a small risk of data corruption? |

QUOTE(nicregi @ Jan 28 2012, 02:59 AM) ICS out in March - April right? So long wait...huhu~ Hmm considering Turkbey oso Added on January 28, 2012, 3:00 am Mini right? I tell you when I flashed I was like...WAH soooo smallll~ Change the screen thingy and it got back normal. Lol~ With those small thingy, looks like I am having a G note instead XD Can't make up my mind. v5 been great but the only issue is the darn ICS thingy. The Siberian tiger's ICS is fine but not complete. Flash Turkbey instead? Eh v5 + tiger's ICS, what features you get? The swipeable quick settings panel? Why not complete? QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 28 2012, 09:13 PM) Guys - out of topic but to those who are interested ; my comparison review between the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus Nice comparison benny.http://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/01/28/brie...s-galaxy-nexus/ Display wise, slightly higher score due to larger screen? Rather surprised by the camera, always thought general consensus was that Nex has a slightly inferior camera. (quality wise, not talking anything bout mpixels) Even read Note has better camera than S2, though that's proly a software thingie. Lol at the volume score, read about that as well Yeah overall I think pure hardware wise, we all know Nexus isn't the best (proly wasn't meant to be as well), and the biggest deal of ICS is mainly in UI changes I feel, apart form some nifty features added to it here and there. |

Hmm I still experience stutters here and there on my phone, guess it's normal. Maybe LA2 would solve that. Gah got LA2 with Jkay support?

QUOTE(1wildcat1 @ Jan 29 2012, 04:20 PM) Have to see features lo.If quad core I'll skip it, rather wait for something with Cortex A15. Display wise, I'm cool with the low res on S2, so doubt that would be a factor for me to change. Can't really imagine a feature that would persuade me to get it. Unless it's super hack smooth zero stutter apps load before I click Or maybe let ppl cook up stuff for it in a month or two then only get it |

QUOTE(johnkor @ Jan 29 2012, 06:16 PM) anyway , did anyone actually brought the Galaxy SII Battery Pack with a thicker battery cover ? how was it ? Yeah I have it, I like it. Extra life is good Plus I actually like the thicker back. Ensures camera doesn't touch table, especially since I don't use casing. Personally prefer holding it with the extended back over stock |
