hi all!
recently my hdd was full because of downloading . And was planning to get a new 3TB WD Green. But i saw everyone do not recommend it. Why?
Any setback? Or wait for something else? It seems like this day hdd can not last longer or the flood are destorying the product itself?

is this the best model in 3TB range? i saw you grab 2 i was curious coz im planning to get 1 myself. actually for storage purpose for my picture and video was aimming at WD 3TB but saw you grab 2 seagate so wan ask lo

Guys, i bought a WD 3TB Green (storage usage ) and want to ask what is the steps to check if it has bad sectors or i should wait and use it then check it for surety? i heard alot news about no advisable to use as backup etc?

RM10 only ma..if RM50 anyway, seagate do have this precious software you're talking about.
That mean WD is left behind them for sure but i saw alot ppl getting it without any problem.

really hope those peoples wouldnt do such a thing, i rmb few years back where they mistakenly put the spoiled HDD and sell it as NEW ones. After many people bring it back they will said is manufactory problems Tricky!

i think the HDD price will drop according timeframe perhaps, as little as one month RM10 i guess. So, 12 mth x 10 = 120 for a year

Now, is between RM480 for 3TB next year is RM360

Is sad to heard that each and everyday someone HDD is gone. Even the data is not that important but still the files inside is kept from a very long time of accumulation. Ever since, the HDD is getting bigger and bigger and our files are getting more and more collection we still feel sad that all the data is gone now FOREVER. So, best way is to make a backup and that means we more HDD and cost of HDD now are insanely high. If you had 3TB that mean another for the backup will cost double) RM1k

I am getting no reading on HDtune also? Is it becos of Motherboard problem? or I use IDE to SATA controller?

Oh my! Nowadays HDD are not trustworthy as a matter of fact when its gonna fail you sooner or later. I think when SSD was introduced, HDD are going damn cheap and cheaper until its robustness or Quality Control (QC) acts like nobody business. I am not saiding that i will give up HDD but i am sad that their inspection are getting worse and worse if the price of HDD is getting dirt cheap nowadays. So, by the time HDD is around a few bucks imagine the reliability of it. Sign!

Are you saiding that if i want a reliable HDD then i need to paid RM2k?

That's is why i am complaining that things will not last longer if you are not paiding what you wanted. But as you'd mentioned SDD with 1TB industrial class costs 2k. I just want to know how long can it last or are we paiding that amount of sum that can use it reliably?
