i have hitachi 2.5" hdd from 2007, the occasional when using got like a "beep" sound

then when reading the disk can hear "tak tak tak" sound from it

not sure if the hdd is failing, but i have backup most of the things from it.....is there anyway to salvage this hdd??

i just had my computer booted and it says unmounted boot error. i had to gothru fixboot to fix it a few times only work.

after a chkdsk and seems to find some error on the disk, not sure if its bad sector error? is there any software for windows XP to check for toshiba hdd bad sector?

Which is a more worthy external hdd to buy? 2x 2tb or 1x 4tb?

I know some 4tb cannot maximises 4tb, only until 3.2tb or something. So thought getting max value is better

currently on cloud, but these hdd are the backups of the cloud instead. It's reversed though. And mostly are stock clips and songs + soundtracks for video.
