QUOTE(prasys @ May 6 2012, 11:07 PM) If you setup a password , its encrypting the data. Simple , now while its doing that , you decided to interrupt. It couldn't complete , now your drive can't be said encrypted nor fully decrypted. It has resulted in an unstable state yeah i know my fault..not that i want to interrupt..i went down for awhile for some work thinking just a while, just realised that my battery can last only 30mins,as i was going back to my room to plug in AC it turned off>_<...so no hope? ..is there a way if i go to any pc work shop and get it repaired?

QUOTE(prasys @ May 6 2012, 11:23 PM) Not sure , you sure you have used BitLocker and not other things The problem now is that even if we can recover the data probably its gibberish. However there are few recovery softwares you could try , you may able to recover data which are not encrypted yet. I am not sure of the chances because I have not attempted to recover files from an encrypted hard disk Anyway the lesson is don't encrypt your hard disks , if you want to protect your files and stuff , consider encrypting the folder or just the files alone. Its way safer compared to doing this way yeah bitlocker..gibberish?meaning that my files are messed up?i dont mind as long i can access my hard disk..someone recommend to try this seagate recover thingy..this https://services.seagate.com/diysoftware.aspx but i dont know wether its working or not..its scaning.Like i said, its a must procedure to encrypt if i want to set up a password, not that i want to encrypt it.So what do you recommend me to do now?Damn theres tons of stuff inside my hd ...btw i just realised i said hard disk..its my external hard disk actually This post has been edited by life09: May 6 2012, 11:32 PM

QUOTE(prasys @ May 6 2012, 11:32 PM) Gibberish in sense the file does not make sense , its lost its identity. Its encrypted. You can't understand. Try with that recovery software and wait , if the disk is large it will take time. Just leave it overnight and pray it recovers something. Always remember , when you want to protect or use bitlocker. Do a bit of research what it does and do not attempt such tasks on battery power. yeah bad bad mistake ...only 28% encrypted..so i dont mind if it lost its identity or what so ever as long i can get to access my external hard disk ..if i bring it to any pc repair centre,do you think they able to repair it? Added on May 6, 2012, 11:42 pmbtw, this seagate file covery..just wondering, when it completes scaning..what happen thn? This post has been edited by life09: May 6 2012, 11:42 PM
