hdd die but u still can recover from 1 disk partition from it? 

What did you do to your hdd lol. 1 year can die edi??

tick2 sound happen when hdd lost power while its needle accessing the disk either read/write. or you simply reset the pc while hdd is busy. better get a ups if your pc are 24/7.

is ur hdd seagate? I rmb last time when I had seagate, everytime there is some hdd activity, it WILL have tick-tick sound from day one

just early this month i RMA-ed my samsung 3.5" 1TB hdd( got a lot of bad sector).. i just put in inside a anti-static bag and wrap it with a lot of bubble wrap and then i put the hdd inside a box(make sure the hdd didn't move inside the box).then i send the hdd to seagate and after a week i got a back a seagate certified refurbished drive.

u need to fill up the form at seagate website to rma the drive.

on the upper left there's a button that says 'begin a return', u need to click it to begin the process.
