QUOTE(everling @ Jun 19 2013, 01:23 PM) Red is for NAS and/or RAID. For reliability and durability , which one place the top 10 ?AV-GP is for CCTV. Green is for normal but reduced energy usage. RE4 is for enterprise usage. RM200 sounds ridiculous, at least for common HDDs that can be had for less than that. Maybe they're also stealing the data from the HDD? It is possible to extract data from dead HDDs. So dead HDDs that once belonged to a finance department, celebrities or other people of significance could be valuable. How old is your HDD before it died? The F1 is a pretty old model. If you need the data on the HDD, please do not send it back to the manufacturer for RMA. The manufacturer will almost certainly give back another HDD, with a different serial number and without your data on it. |

QUOTE(everling @ Jun 21 2013, 02:35 PM) Unfortunately I don't. So does a speaker satellite magnet will have effect on it ? because I see a lot of people placing their pair satellite speaker beside an external Harddisk WD bookAnd it seems that it is possible to kill a HDD with magnets, but you'll need a really strong one. http://www.technologyreview.com/news/40595...l-a-hard-drive/ |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Feb 27 2014, 09:01 AM) Your data has to be cached to get near SSD speed, for example new video you've just created wont get speed boost. oh , thanks , but which SSD is reliable ? last time some Crucial no more distributor . Only intel ?you have to access the file repeatedly, for example, you are editing it, the firmware inside SSHD will cache the file to SSD. But the speed wont near pure SSD either, it's lagging behind the SATA 3GB/s speed http://techreport.com/review/25425/seagate...rive-reviewed/7 If you want pure SSD speed, get a SSD. |

will it be some low cost or half failure hard disk in it like the news before WD putting recycle flood hard disk into WD element ? |

elliot_WD Normally just for external usage plugin to a media player.
I dont how you count by taking care. If hard disk use for storage like copy file into hard disk once a week 1GB , then put into the cupboard.Looping just like this for backup ? consider take care ? time on maybe 1-4 hours for a month ? |
