Hi guys just run the SMART test on my WD C.Blue 500gb hdd this morning and the results show raw read error rate = Failed...

here's the screenshot of the test (run via HD tune and WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic)

Attached Image

judging from the results, my only choice is to RMA the HDD right?

*when i shutdown the PC, i can heard some grinding noise from the hdd.... sweat.gif

Use the WDC Diagnostic tool before send for warranty, they will only accept RMA that their tools approved.
If you unable to get fail status from their tool, then email their support regards your situation, and check your SMART everyday to see if it does increase or experience any slows down, paused, hang...etc, maybe this may convince them to give you a RMA.

already use their WDC D. tools, same results...status failed for Raw Data Read Error...

Already submit RMA request at their website..

gonna send the HDD to them by 2molo...

now still no idea which courier i gonna use... sweat.gif

Where do you live? Maybe WDC can send a courier to pick up your HDD, if your area is covered under their supported area, otherwise might need to courier manually (pain in the arse doh.gif )

i thought this services ended dy, now they required all the customers to ship the parcel manually..no more courier pickup dy...

btw i from Sabah....and the post fees gonna like rclxub.gif

What was their (ie. Achieva Tech) response? Will they provide the courier service (ie. send to Singapore) themselves? unsure.gif
Don't know bout sending to SG, they only said RMA need bout 10 days, so now just gonna wait...

no receipt needed, only need to provide S/N for warranty checking...

I am sticking with Western Digital biggrin.gif

got my HDD back from RMA
and they replace it with newer model instead of fixing it (pre-flood hdd)

am a happy consumer currently
*
newer model wow, just gave achieva a call regarding my RMA, they also said will send a brand new hdd back to me by this week... sweat.gif
