Question. My client ask me to get a 3.5 internal Hitachi 2TB HDD that cost around RM385 (C-Zone price list), cost more than Seagate & WD.

Is Hitachi hdd more better than Seagate or WD?

Or just the stock is low so thats why the price is higher?

TQ.

Just bought a 2TB Hitachi 7K3000 last week...stocks are very limited now...been to many shops in LY also couldnt find.
End up got it from Jayacom for rm370..according to LY shops...whats left on the market are the last batch of stock..since they got bought over by WD

From my research..seems that its more reliable than WD green and the newer Seagates...

Just to share, for backups I run a weekly sync/backup of my important files to a WD Elements 1.5 TB. So I have duplicates in another ext disk.

IMO any hdd will go kaput...just a matter of when only.

i bought a archgon hdd docking (MH–3507 FUSION) earlier, its running on usb 3. but no matter what disk i put in..the transfer rate is also around 7mb/s.
surely not my usb port problem, because my usb3 thumb drive transfer at 50mb+/s..

is that a false advertisement? anyone using ar?

Just bought WD Blue 500GB yesterday and encounter the "Humming" sound issue.
At first I though it was the WD drive problem till I google up.

Looks like there's some "incompatibility" between Samsung Spinpoint and WD drive.
This guys had the same exact problem like me

If u google up "WD Humming", you could see alot of results relate to SS Spinpoint or vise versa.

Weird huh.

and thx to the power of google search, I found the solution to it  sweat.gif (not quite, but it's better)

i have also bought a 500gb blue, < 2 weeks old...now cannot be detected although it still spin...and got some noise coming out of it...i bought it based on my past exp with WD drives...i guess they dont make good drives anymore...

guys, can u tell me for 2TB range, is hitachi the most reliable brand after wd's black?

from my research, that seems to be true in terms of reliability..but the stock for 2TB 7k3000 drives are very rare already since WD took over..u can try to search for it in LYP though..
