Share info with all forumers here, my sis office pc using Seagate Surveillance sv35 sata 250GB HDD which purchased in Aug2008 can last until 2012 then became lagging, so i just replace it with WD RE4 1TB this month, so far so good.
QUOTE(lichongwei @ Feb 27 2014, 01:20 PM) I bought before A-DATA DashDrive™ Durable HD710 and Buffalo HD-PCTU3 : MiniStation™ USB 3.0. They are using Toshiba HDD's inside. In fact, my wife is using Buffalo PZU previous series under USB 2.0. Is Toshiba HDD inside too. As for Transcend ext HDD, i believe they are using the Toshiba HDD too. currently using sony ext which inside is seagate hdd. |

QUOTE(mrbob @ Jul 2 2014, 04:17 PM) Wowzers! 5 years warranty! Anyway you'd probably be ready to upgrade to a larger capacity HDD when you reach the 3rd year. Hopefully by then 6TB HDDs would become more affordable. *Keeping*fingers*crossed* this hitachi 2tb already cost RM5xx ler, dun need get larger liao lor, as it is only save company data nia. |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Jul 8 2014, 06:34 PM) More than 6 months for Thoshiba if i recall correctly. Damn scared to store anythings important on them, gotta buy 2 more backup drive have u tried wd re4 enterprise before? WD Green and AVGP started to develop problem after one years. While Black one after two years. Green one was the most serious, bad sector occupied more than 75% of the drive. AVGP and Black only have tiny bits of bad sector. but WD honor the warranty and replaced them. |

Recently received quite a few number of faulty usb WD 2.5inch ultrabook, and 1 unit of seagate usb 2.5inch hdd.
i have advised those users to get separate purchase for wd 2.5inch black caviar with a descent ext enclosure for their next purchase. |

QUOTE(carpathia @ Aug 11 2014, 09:06 AM) I have around 5 hdd at home ( all 2tb, using toaster and 2 more in pc) various brands - samsung, hitachi, wd. ur wd is which model ar? green or blue? me and sis , also neighbor are all using wd re4I have had to RMA/replaced 2 Western Digital hard disk in the last 2 years and yesterday, another one went kaput ( warranty expired) due to bad sectors that cannot be regenerated. So all in all, 3 wd hard disk died on me and another 2.5 external wd rma also few months back. Now im beginning to think WD have a QC isssue here ? my other hard disks at home ( samsung, hitachi 3.5 and buffalo 2.5) still going strong with daily use. |
