QUOTE(AssKicker @ Dec 27 2005, 01:28 PM) Hey guys, I really need ur help. i'm planning to buy a katana online. Yap, the sword (real thing, not those that u can find in toyrus). I'm worried that the customs will confiscate it. Any ideas on how to purchase this online? Any procedures I need to follow up in order to get it. Is there anything else i need to worry besides customs? Dont ever think of getiing it in the first place. Dont say a real sword, even the collection of Lira coins (French currency coins I think) that my penpal sent to me were confiscated by them. Reason why? The dumbest answer I've ever heard - the metal objects are dangerous I trying to refer to DC and XL how they manage to bring in PORN figurines through their shipment. To bring in individually is not recommended and amazingly they managed to. I usually will ask some of my friends (ladies) when they are in Japan or HK to bring me back some of the PORN figurines by hiding them in their baggage (undergarments). Usually will pass the customs as they do not mess (touch) these personal items

topic pinned. Please make sure there are no illegal items (you know what), inclusive of how to get them or where to get them to be discussed here.

QUOTE(AssKicker @ Jan 13 2006, 08:07 AM) was looking through the HLJ website, still got a few question regarding the orders made. 1. what's money order (payment method), how does it works (i prefer not to use credit card)??? 2. what happen if the customs confiscate my items?? Will they inform me?? 1. You use money order if you need to pay for something via US Mail and dont want to use your credit card. A money order is an instrument that orders a sum of money to be paid to someone else. You pay for the order in the amount that HLJ stated, along with a fee to the establishment selling it, and sends the order to the person he wants to pay. Because the money order must be paid for in full at the time of purchase, the payee is guaranteed the money will be paid to him. A money order does not expire, so the payee can cash it at any time. Cashier's checks from a bank are much the same as a money order, but usually involve larger sums of money. Many stores have limits on how much someone can make a money order for. Cashier's checks usually involve amounts of money over $500 or $1,000. They are guaranteed by the issuing bank. 2. Yes, they usually will do and you have the rights to open any enquiries about your package. Chances of getting your items released from them is particularly low if they are deemed illegal in this country - so dont waste your time arguing with them unless you are sure that your items didnt go against any of their rules. I'll still have some items confiscated by the customs 2 years ago. Its a shipment of beauty products sent by my client for a photo shoot as they are not available/sold here. The reason that they are not allowed in is they doesnt have the approval safety certificate for them and are listed as hazardous material This post has been edited by providence: Jan 13 2006, 08:48 AM
