Hi guys, How long does it need to ship out my goods from HLJ once I place order? How about those 'Out Of Stock Item"? Do I need a very long time to wait for them to stockup? I ve just purchase some item from them.

are you sure? i thought that their policy is that they will ship by EMS even though u request SAL for items more than 15,000 yen (~RM440)

but never the less.. RM2k no matter what shipment u use still taxable.. tongue.gif
*
Sorry my mistake. I didn't check the content what they send. Yesterday check the detail and found out they send half of my order. The total value is RM800+ and using SAL. Not sure why they choose SAL because I did state there to use EMS. Hopefully the custom don't tax me that high. For the next shipment I think the tax is very kau kau. cry.gif

Collect my item last week. Kena tax 15% plus RM18 for the custom fill form. Total RM142. Not that bad at all. thaught will kena rm300+. From the custom book I check, the toys that we import is 5% tax and 10% sale tax. IF no tax, item must below rm500 or fall on toy carriage item.

10000yen discount in declare form?? If I not mistaken, japan custom side won't allow to do that.

They don't really check what you brought. If the item is over RM500, they just tax you. For hobby kit, 15% tax unavoidable.

Thanks for the info.
I would really prefer to order from local toy shops, but I just don't know which shop provide such service with a good price...
i live in penang btw...

Don't get scared by those custom and tax. You re not import those illegal thing. If your calculation price is worth to buy online (including shipping cost, convenient and tax) just get it. The max they can tax you is just 15%. (I ve the custom tax book to refer). Tell them is a hobby item for own use. Anything tax less and free tax take it as bonus. I ve purpose brought a model kits less than rm500 last week to see if the custom will tax me or not. Should be arrive next week. The kits is much more cheaper than local after the calculation.

Please take note that cheaper doesn't necessarily means better..  tongue.gif

1. Customs can detain your parcel anytime with any reason. Some ppl just had to visit the customs and sign a declaration form and take their parcel..no tax involved. Its just a waste of time going to the customs office and also waste of petrol unless you're staying near their office.
*
You can appoint the poslaju or transportation company to declare for you. Just pay the money to the service. They will call you if your item is at custom and would you like them to declare for you. No need to go custom unless you want. But I will go for the purpose to learn the procedure and the stupid merry go round declaration.

QUOTE
2. Some custom officers will still tax you even though your total cost os less than RM500 coz some of them are dumb that they do not even know that they shouldn't tax you lolz! A few cases already happened..
Just do your calculation is it worth to buy online. If the local price is just different a few buck, go and buy locally. The calculation should be price, tax and petrol or tranportation service I guess. For time, well you can go on weekend also or if you free.

QUOTE
3. If you're unlucky, you might receive your items in bad condition. You dun wanna waste your money sending back the item to exchange for a new one. If you buy locally, you can check the condition of the item before you buy it.
*Play-Asia doesn't do good packaging. Items can still get damaged even though I used FedEx.
It would happen but the risk percentage is low. Those online company you deal are mostly have experience in import /export. They know how to do packaging.

QUOTE
4. Customs officers have the right to open your parcel. They might damage your stuff when they check it.
Still it is very very low risk and worth to take.

QUOTE
Just my point of view..no offense..but buying locally is much much better UNLESS you can save more than RM100 if you buy overseas hehe..

Conclusion..no customs no problem. They should be like U.S., no tax for collectible items..syok!
*

If the problem like Yunax mention, do we have a choice? Even I live in KL, I still have difficult to get what I want. And I waste a lot petrol and time to find In KL and PJ to get the thing. But if the price is good and avaiable my choice is still buy locally. thumbup.gif

Yup..I agree that you can appoint Poslaju to get the parcel for you but what if the custom officers tax you even though the total cost of the item your bought is less than RM500?

You'll then have to go to the customs office and explain to them why they shouldn't tax you right? Besides, PosLaju's service to pickup your items from the customs office is around RM50 ><.

About the packaging, the best packaging i've ever seen is a online company from the U.S.. HLJ and Play-Asia packaging sucks! Play-Asia uses weak boxes and sometime they just put the item in the box without bubblewraps and styrofoams! As for HLJ, they use stronger boxes but no bubblewraps or any other protection around the item. They do put in the big bubblepack but that thing can burst easily. There was once when I open up my parcel from HLJ, all of those bubblepacks burst! I dunno why but since they are such big and famous companies..can;t they just provide customers with double wall boxes and better protective items??

The item I received from the US toy company was packed by double walled box and the box was like twice the size of the item. Around the item was full of styrofoams that I had to dig lots of them just to get my figure lolz!
*
As I said, do the calculation and include the tax. If tax free consider as a bonus. I don't know how much to appoint for poslaju to declare for you. But normally I will go there to deal myself. But if you live other state or far away, is it better to buy online and ask for poslaju help or you yourself travel to penang/ KL to buy the kits? Once again do the calculation and consider which one is better.
For packaging, I never encounter any problem so far. From US till japan. All pack nice and no damage.

Yes, I don't know about KL, but it happens in Penang.
Custom officers will open each and ever parcel they held back for tax. They will ask you again and again, what is this item for, what game, is it nice, for what console, why you buy it etc etc, full of shit and adsurb. That is what I face when taking back a PS3 game for my friend...

So the best choice is still order from local store but from what I know in penang, they don't really care about your order...man...
i want my saber ><;;;
*
It seems like KL is much more better I guess. tongue.gif Last time I brought an item worth RM1500 send direct to my home without tax. rclxms.gif
The procedure in KL is, get call from poslaju -> go KLIA pos -> open for custom check. Than the custom said kena tax cause over RM500 (never see the item but only invoice). Than take the invoice to counter for documentation tax percentage charge. Than the officer ask you agree or not the total tax percentage. After that give back to custom to check and past to another custom counter and than pass to another counter for payment. Than pass back to the first custom the document and take your item. A stupid merry go round procedure. All between a few foot step away. I order the kits from HLJ worth RM900 and the stupid custom don't want check at all. I just told him what is inside.
This time I try with small amount like below rm200 from HK and see will tax or not. Another item is almost rm500 from HLJ and see how they will tax. If everything acording to my expectation, than I will use the best way to avoid tax.

Everywhere the same wan..just that for Penang, you will receive a letter via PosLaju notifying that your parcel kena tahan

If you wanna buy stuff over RM500 esp from eBay, just send a fake invoice to the seller and ask them to stick it outside of them box. Your parcel will not get detained by the customs. I've already done that many time lolz!

Btw..which Saber are you looking for?
*
In KL, they send letter + phone call. But the letter came 1week after I get the parcel. Really laju. thumbup.gif

Wow!! You're serious??!

But how? Will they edit the invoice or they will just put a lower value at the customs form?
If they don't change the value at the invoice then there is no point. Our customs take the value on the invoice seriously..that's why I always edit the invoice to a lower value whenever I purchase stuff from eBay.
*
They just print a dummy invoice to stick at the box for our custom declare. The actual real invoice, either email to you or inside the box. But for country like japan and singapore (what I know), they cannot do that. Thier local custom will check their company account and in trouble. I m suprise the HK can do that. rclxms.gif

how long would i get the item???

EMS...too expensive for me >.<"

ozak usually u use EMS???smile.gif
*
Usually take about 6-7days. The damn HLJ use SAL. I don't no why cause in my order I state use EMS. The last package I collect is yeaterday from KLIA. Kena tax rm100+. mad.gif Anyway, using SAL is ok for me. As long as the shipment cost is low and won't take my item around the world before sending to me.

For the anime dvds I got from US, the snailmail the real invoice to me, and for the box they just write a dummy invoice. So no matter if I buy boxset or single dvd, it's always USD5 each, so even if I do get taxed the amount they tax also low. Tax for DVD is quite high.
*
Yeah. Now during odering, I send an additional email to ask them reduce the invoice amount. Let see my next ordering got lucky or not. he.....

I guess maybe your item is small. So bigger chance the custom let go. My 2x order from HLJ got tahan and tax by custom. The box is big. So probally think the item is high price. mad.gif Got another item shipping out from HLJ this week. This time they using EMS. The item is small but price exceed RM500. Will see kena tahan or not. notworthy.gif

Ask the poslaju declare for you. They will send a letter to you. Feel it up and send/fax back the form. The parcel will send to the nearest pos office and pay there.

3x kena tahan and call me 2x. But strange. Yesterday go there declare. Explain to the stupid custom what is this use for(air brush). Than ask me go to counter 2 declare custom form. My heart said sure kena tax liau. But instead the officer told me just paid the custom form RM18 with no tax. Wasting my time and petrol just to ask me declare without a tax.
