QUOTE(mr lappy)
if kastam no kacau then to your door then
they pack things nicely but ultimately it is 'decided' by the postal system if it arrives nicely or not.

if kacau then either get in KLIA or penang kastam (am i correct?)

Penang Kastam as in the one nearby the Pg Airport area..?

Coz I have to collect mine in Butterworth Post Office, nearby Jetty there....and was taxed 10% + 5% like their Big Red Customs Tax book said...~

Coz I called the Pegarah Kastam..they say if use EMS and total charges below RM500..cannot kena tax eh..

Have ordered few times through HLJ using SAL and nearly all went by smoothly except once where i was taxed 10+5 with item + shipping total up to less than RM500.... Either that Customs officer is in a bad mood, or i look like i have some extra cash to spend... cry.gif

Coz you use SAL..

I'm talking about EMS here

I know..that's why i listed SAL instead of just replying..~ Coz since EMS usually costs double of SAL, i dont think Customs will lower down their tax tolerance due to faster shipping method..~

Jst hope you could have a rough idea on it..~ smile.gif

Yes..overwrite the rules I agree..!

Coz I have friends that ordered from other countries with total value of less than RM200, some got taxed, while others didn't... So I guess it depends on what's the Mood the Custom Officer is in...~
