HLJ declares real value for the parcel thats why we dont buy too much in one shipment from there.

HLJ also no allow to declare as gift...reason is they use software to print invoice sweat.gif
come on...which business software not so flexible that you cant change the invoice amount and name manually... In my experience, most seller from US dont want to declare lower value and write as gift, some of them say will break business rule shocking.gif

yes. if you buy from well-known company like HLJ they usually have their own principle that is to not make false declarations on the invoice. It's already been stated clearly in their T & C in their website.. on the other hand, if you make purchase from sellers from ebay most of them are willing to do so, so that you're happy and will buy with them again..

agree..if want me to choose declare low value to avoid get tax but have to bear the risk of getting less insurance amount if lost parcel during delivery, OR declare the exact value to get the exact insurance amount when lost, I will choose to declare low value. There are high chance to get tax by customs than lost parcel, furthermore customs may detain the items and not allow it to import into malaysia when some of their staff have a nut brain hmm.gif

the chances of getting taxed has no relation to which country you order your stuff from. it depends on luck.. and HLJ declares real value for the parcel thats why we dont buy too much in one shipment from there.

Not sure is it luck. Maybe the custom take more consent package from japan as they know item from japan easly exceed rm500. Or most of the item from japan is expensive. Or they have experience record show item from hk is average lower value.

Actually it is not principle but require from japan gov. The jpn custom/gov tax will audit the company acc. If they found out acc not tally, they were in trouble. But I can ask HK site to declare lower value or as gift when brought from them. And some jpn site also. thumbup.gif

Don't under estimate the custom. They did their homework.

If the seller is a company like hlj, it is a crime. But buyer is not a crime. thumbup.gif If the seller is individu, than it is not a crime. Try find some individu seller in japan. Than you can get tax free. icon_rolleyes.gif

eh...how about if company seller write the low value manually for request by buyer but in company account they state the real value and make no problem for acc audit, is it still the crime?

Izzit true that shipment above RM500 will be tax or is random base on luck? Cause my next shipment will be around RM800, else I need separete my shipment. How much they tax for sexy PVC figure (Cast off able)?

Between HLJ & Hobby Search, which offer the best price? I used to buy from Hobby Search, but lately their PVC figure getting expensive due to Yen price gone up. Now I looking for other online shop, any one can recommend a shop?

Its base on luck..there are people who escaped customs for shipment above RM500..but if your parcel is big then most probably they will detain.

For sexy PVC figure, I think they will rampas. Don't let them know that its cast off able..

Try to buy from local shops..although more expensive but you don't have to go through customs..
Else, get from eBay and ask seller to attach a fake invoice on the parcel..

For shipment over Rm500 using EMS, it depends on luck also, sometimes can pass custom without problem, but I don't advice taking the risk though.
Usually as long as from the box they don't see that the figure is terlampau then your are safe, they won't ask you to take out the figures one.

Hobby Search is cheaper, due to the points and 5% off retail price, HLJ only have discount during pre-order, after that it's normal pricing. For other online store you can try Play-Asia which has free shipping or our local online store like TFM

i guess it is based on luck...i have one nendoroid which cost RM370 using EMS to post from japan, the box is small one and the value write in USD. In the end when i receive it, found that it already open and chk by customs, luckily no tax. It just the same price when buy from local shop if compare to international shop which need to add expensive shipment cost. Just the difference is local shop price always expensive than retail yen price. For those very sexy figure or large shipment, it is better to separate it to ship...shipment cost still no big difference because it is based on weight to calculate the shipment cost, but the seller may ask for another handle fee/packing fee sweat.gif

just share something:

recently only i started ordeing with HWJapan (Hobby World Japan). look at the name also can't avoid thinking them as a competitor of HLJ, name also similar tongue.gif .

basically, cheaper there. japanese yen suggest retail price (HLJ price) with certain discount, and point system. The shipment price would also calculated on the spot.

One thing: u wont pay anything until they secure your order; which is good (like HLJ). but the probelm is, they dont have a very good order system software, so if any item u order isnt in stock, u will not be able to see until they email you.

Also the catalog isnt as big as HLJ, and the page navigation isnt as friendly too.

worth checking out though.

Guy! I looking for an online shop where I can pre-order limited/raw items from figure expo in Japan. Currently Hobby Search or HLJ doesn't sell any limited/raw items which were on sales during the figure expo in Japan.
