Guys! Anyone know if there is a new policy on taxation? There are 2 separate incident involving my friend who was tax twice.

1. First case, involving products and freight charges of around Rm300. He was tax Rm50.

2. The second case was on a single product which is around Rm200 including shipping. He havent told me the amount that he was tax. Will update on this later.

I was wondering if there really is a new taxation policy around or is our custom being greedy.

What shipping method did he use? If he's using PosLaju/EMS, he should not be taxed unless product cost + shipping + insurance exceeds RM500

If normal parcel/airmail, customs have their right to tax your friend.

If that's the case, he can educate the customs. Argue with the customs that if anyone uses EMS and the CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) is less than RM500, tax should be exempted.

There was a link stating this at the custom's website..somewhere in this thread. Last time, I would print that out to prepare myself in case some customs officers do not know about this.

There are cases where the officers really do not know, and when they consult other officers then they knew, and release the item without tax..

Actually any air-courier.... including ordinary air parcel, not specifically EMS..... it's shipping by sea that they can tax you.

Hi, kinda new to this forum. Hopefully somebody can give me some help about this :

Recently I bought a motorcycle helmet from Ebay. The helmet is DOT approved and the total cost is below RM500(less than rm250 really, which mean not going to be taxed right?).

Long story short, I found out kastam detain my helmet at butterworth. This morning i went to get it but they kastam lady told me that I have to apply AP from MITI in Penang for my helmet.

After some internet searches for discussion about applying AP for motorcycle helmet, I still can't get enough info about the application for the AP.

I only know about having to buy the form for the AP and also hire a typewriter to type the form for me. The most clueless part is the "official letter/surat rasmi) for the reason of application and the usage of my helmet like the format and especially the "To/Kepada : + address" part. Or I don't even need to compose the official letter at all?

Can anybody help me? icon_question.gif

If I remember correctly, its 15% for toys.

It really depends on you, whether you willing to travel and deal with the customs and whether you have the time to visit them.

HLJ will not spilt your order. They will always combined your orders coz they wanna save shipping cost for customers. Its recommended that you have multiple accounts and also disable PayPal billing agreement.

Read pages 63-64 of this thread..someone already experienced HLJ shipping all his items at once smile.gif

Rant, there is another edition of this story located in Nendoroid thread.

MANDARAKE - NAKANON STORE
Do not buy/order anything from them.

Let me tell you guys a story.

3 days ago, I ordered a few items from Mandarake store. Paid with paypal and picked DHL as my shipping option. Item arrived yesterday, I was really excited that it came so fast, so yesterday night I opened up my package, and found out 1 of them item has a MISSING HAIR PART.

I directly took my phone camera and snapped alot of pictures for the missing part. And further proceed to email mandarake and opened a dispute corner attached with all the pictures and tries to talk it out with Mandarake. I told Mandarake that the item has a missing part and requested Mandarake to replace me the missing item which I don't care how it works (mail back to them for replacement, mail me another same item, or a refund), I just wanted to get what I should be getting cause it isn't my fault !! I even told them that I will order more item so they can just place my missing item together with it.

And this is how Mandarake replied me, copy pasted from paypal dispute section.

From Seller - 株式会社まんだらけ

7/16/2011 11:56 GMT+08:00

I checked with the store front, but the staffs says its difficult to belive such case since we check the items everytime, and they will know if a big piece like hair piece is missing. But we will refund item price 2,000 yen + shipping 500 yen.

From Seller - 株式会社まんだらけ

7/16/2011 12:03 GMT+08:00

please take down the claim, so we can give you the 2,500 yen refund from your original payment, and you can keep that figure. Howver, please understand that we can not risk such case anymore through paypal, so please do not order from our website anymore.

From Buyer - Aki (I hid my real name here)

7/16/2011 12:12 GMT+08:00

Hi,

The hairpiece is indeed missing, I bought the item and found out the hairpiece was missing thus the whole figure un-displayable / not completed, that's why I m writing this to let Mandarake Nakano store knows about it. It wasn't my fault, as a consumer that received an item that has missing parts.

My further order that I placed yesterday was canceled and I received a message that to not order from your website anymore really disappoint me.
I can mail Mandarake back the item that has missing part and Mandarake just replace it with the same item, but shipping cost bear by Mandarake, isn't this would do us better?

I hope we could settle this nicely, I am frustrated.
Please let me know if you still want to keep this customer.
Because I am planning to order some more items, but was canceled due to "risk of paypal from Mandarake"

Disappointed customer,

and they gave me a reply like this,

From Seller -

which literally translated to,

With enough complaints to PayPal and over parts of the hair. It's a little hard to believe after checking with SP4. The same order like the following: 385 737 new orders. Cramer? Refund $ 20 + shipping fee $ 5.00 minute items so anyway. Order is not subject again

Which Mandarake called me a "Cramer?"(WTF?) I believe they meant Scammer, 385 737 orders and you made a mistake on quality assurance here right? Their staff didn't checked the item properly ended up I getting a figure with missing hair part ??!?! They refunded me the value of the item and banned my paypal from ordering from them again, as they stated so please do not order from our website anymore"

So great man, I am just asking for my replacement because it isn't my fault that I got myself an item that has missing part, and Mandarake did not believe me and called me a Cramer...They totally just rage out and threw me back my money and asked me to not go there anymore, it wasn't even my fault here, I felt like being treated as a scammer or w/e that is, jesus christ sake.

Disappointed and pissed right now, totally.

p/s: the figure was a nendoroid, and I ordered a bunch of them.

Well, from what my understanding, they afraid that same case might happen again for your order as you order same category item from them.

The missing hair part case already happen once and is unbelievable thing for them but they have no choice but to admit their fault. That's why they return your money and ask you to keep the nendoroid. But after they found out that your new order is nendoroid again, same category item, they suspect that you are a claimer who claim to have other missing part and wish to get the nendoroid for free, so they cancel off your order and wanted to prevent same thing happen to them again.

This is just base on my understanding of those japanese sentence with my knowledge as I don't believe in google translation since they can translate words but not sentences. For example: "遠慮なくなんでも書きこんでください。" which means Please write with no hesitate. But google translate can alter the meaning to Please write anything feel crowded.

USJ 20.

Anyway, You have to understand that I am the victim, for being banned from buying anymore items from them due to their own mishandling, it has nothing to do with the translation from google or suspicious of name calling.
