Here are my DIY of the Infrared time lapsed remote (Intervalometer) to trigger the NEX.
http://youtu.be/J5TGKTA8Qug here is the test result http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYyqd_zpdRc actually it is quite easy to build, you need to get an arduino, a very useful and fun micro-controller board , infrared LED which cost about RM1-3 and a computer to upload the "program" into arduino. the program is just few lines of code.
