Eh hi Lai!

I'd only get the 50 1.8 for video, coz it's quite expensive la, buy an adapter from Lai then with the remaining cash go get an SMC 50 1.4 and tada! You have a super low light monster...

Wow, it's been a while since I last visited this forum. F5 is rumored to be out by July, followed by A99 (source: sonyalpharumours).

Just a note, Sony malaysia cut the prices of some accesories: F20v only RM399!!! New lens in stock as well.

My 2 third party batteries so far (half a year now) has not given me any problem.

I'm looking to upgrade to NEX 6, so have to get rid of my 5N... Any taker? Or should I keep 5N as backup? =)

There was this one idea at the back of my head, that the reason why Sony is so slow on pushing out new lens for NEX: they are planning for the rumored full frame NEX, and they are designing full frame NEX lens ala nikon DX/FX lines that's why the much delayed NEX e mount apsc lens...

So perhaps in the future we will have NEX in 2 flavors like Nikon/Sony: apsc and full frame. (awwWWWwwwww yeah!)

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there any 3rd party like Tamron or Sigma going to produce 50mm f1.8 lens shortly? If not i ll opt to buy adapter plus canon lens smile.gif

He said adapter with canon lens, you don't get autofocus as well.

The Hassy-nex 7 is grotesquely ugly! Not sure any super rish would even want to buy that abomination child of devil's arse with an inside-out organs unicorn sprinkled with mahogany wood stuck in the a-hole.

It does follow the norm of a usual design, but doesn't mean that it's ugly, or grotesquely ugly for that matter. From the looks of it, I think the curves will fit into the palm very well - giving a confident grip on the camera.

But wow, kel, you really set the bar real high for coming up with an adjective like that  rclxms.gif

Grip is fine. Gassy is trying to create a new design language. But the product idea of adopting NeX 7 and turn it nothing remotely functionally better, and try to pass it off as ultra luxury goods, Leica comes to mind.

Leica used to be THE camera everybody wanted, high end, but still justifiable. One can use it to work, make money, express your hobby or your art. Leica used to advertise itself as the camera company with rich heritage, with great photog embracing it. But now? Unless those photogs were either sponsored by Leica, or they are ultra rich, not many working photogs are using one.

The worse fate that can happen to a Leica? You are not Aston Martin, you are Morgan. =D why would Leica wants to lock themselves to the niche of the niche market is really beyond me. (now substitute Leica to Hassy, you'll get what I mean)

I'm just a poor man rambling. Dreams remain a dream, but Hassy and Leica's latest news (hassy's NEx 7 and Leica/John Ive) really saddened me, cheapens the image. I can no longer view Leica owners the same anymore, to me they are just spoiled ultra rich toy. Back to shooting film... cry.gif

Funny you should mention dynamic range. Isn't film has the greatest dynamic range still? I should correct my statement too, I'm referring to digital Leica. Too bad we have to keep the thread clean and relevant to NeX discussion. We should create a thread to discuss about this issue: brand appeal.

Anyway, Leica's "unique look" is much to do with their lens rather than the camera itself, ImO.

I'mma Gearhead ! LOL

Did a quick test on my 1-day old RX100 with my Nex 5 + E16, similar lighting condition, similar ISO, diff shutter as Nex sensor is abit more sensitive maybe it's bigger, and similar aperture at f/2.8, f/5.6, and f/8, RX100 at 28mm, Nex at 16mm (24mm), and the result...

E16 lose, lose until cham cham, very very lousy. WTF to Sony made a crap lens to use on APSC sensor and a good lens on 1" sensor, maybe their marketing gimmick to ketagih their customers to buy more and more ? Lol we're the water-fish !

Off topic, I should test the E16 with my iPhone 4 maybe it will win this time !
Mind elaborate?
