It is old Konica mount. Before Minolta time. Alpha is follow minolta.
I got the lenses and adapter from ebay too.

I'm not a pro but with my experience with other pros, the first one: It's kinda sad that the front part of the wings are not focus but instead of blurred out. I really like your shots, stunt me for quite awhile actually (at first I was WOAHhhhh... and then I was nooo...), the contrast and sharpness is just great in my opinion. I love "his" eyes.   

Perhaps you can send your shots to flickr instead, because sometimes the image host will compress your images so best if you can upload your photos to flickr or photoshop.com

Most tele lens usually like that, big and long and maybe heavy especially old ones with metal-build, really need a tripod if zoomed out. I bidded (and still winning atm) for the 1st version by Kiron, gonna need to start exercising my hands and arms as it's the heaviest of all
NEX has a crop factor of 1.5x so a 50mm (FX/full-frame format) lens would equal to ~75mm on our cams, not sure whether the adapter will affect anything though. Can always try a extension tube if you want close-ups, cheap and can be used with majority of lenses unlike filters which are limited by its thread size, 49mm cannot install on 55mm and vice-versa unless add step-up/step-down ring.

not a bokeh expert nor even a camera expert but think the heptagon bokeh (not hex coz i think i counted 7 sides i/o 6 on the clearest one) is caused by your aperture fins... If your lens aperture fins is 6 fins type, then you will have a hexagon shaped bokeh... if you have about 12 fins aperture, then most likely you will get close to a round shaped ones... so guessing your lens have a 7 aperture fins...

Hello! I'm keen to join in the SONY NEX group!    HOWEVER, the issue bothering me is that whether to get the NEX C3 or 5N. I got advised by the sales personnel to get the NEX C3, cause the image quality are equally the same! On the other hand, I saw some of you still prefer the latter one. Hmm, actually is there any difference that will affect the image quality? Is it Worth for the price paid for the upgrade from C3 to 5N? Any advice for me? Nearly Zero knowledge to photography O__O In a dilemma of C3 or 5N.     appreciate much for the adviceeee!! 

5 sides = pentagon
6 sides = hexagon
7 sides = heptagon/septagon
8 sides = octagon
9 sides = nonagon

To have circular bokeh, just use the lens wide open. A lens is considered "circular aperture" by Minolta's standards, if the bokeh remains circular when set to 2 stops below its brightest aperture - meaning a F1.7 lens with "circular aperture" will still show a circular aperture at F3.5. However at F4.0 onwards it may start to show a polygonal shape instead.

Any settings to shoot this scene?

Guys, if im not going to buy any additional lens, as in just using the Nex5N without upgrading the lens or watever, do you think its okay with it or i might as well get other non changeble lens compact?

Finally got fed-up of bidding for a Minolta MD Rokkor 50mm f1.4, bought a Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f1.7 via "Buy It Now" instead, so much faster and easier and cheaper One of the legendary prime lenses which is supposedly better than Minolta's offering...

here I think mainly is me to play on Konica Hexanon lenses, because it is not common mount.
Same like u, I opt for Konica Hexanon for its affordable price and quite a good reputable sharp prime lenses.
The most reputable one is 57mm F1.2, but the price is too high and very rare! (not to mentionthe M-Hexanon 50mm F1.2 for Leica M mount which is super over price!)

So i go for 50mm F1.4 (F16 early version) which someone said it is the cheaper successor for 57/1.2 with the same 7 elements in 6 groups design.
It is still rare compare to 50mm F1.7. Now the 50/1.4 is always with my camera beside the SEL18200.
Now I have collected for Konica Hexanon: 50/1.4 (early), 57/1.4 (white ring), 50/1.7 (early F16), 50/1.7(late F22), 28/3.5 (early), 135/3.5(early), 135/3.5(late), 80-200mm F4.5 (late compact zoom).

All bid from Ebay, some are come in package. it is quite a gambling to bid from ebay, especially worry on getting defected items or worst missing parcel!
I think i have enough Konica Hexanon unless can get good deal on the UC version!
My next target will be the Voigtlander or Zeiss, but i think i need to sell off most of the lenses to fund it!

How much did you pay for the Minolta? The down side I've just noticed about buying old Konica mounts is that... There are not many choices of mf lens, so my Konica-NEX adapter is like bought specially just for this one Nah, I wanna pet the owl
