Type of camera/lens/accesories : film camera, preferably fully mechanical but I don't mind if there is electronic light metering. Even better if it comes with a prime lens like a 50mm f1.8/35mm f2

Budget: <RM500

Your Location: Sabah

Preferable brand: no preference

Type of photography u want to do: street, portraits, candids

Any specific models in mind?: Canon F-1, A-1, AE-1(P), Minolta X700, Olympus OM-1, OM-2, OM-10, Nikon FM2, F3... I know some are a bit off the budget trail

Any specific features u want? : full manual available

At most can get you a entry body + kit. You need flash + prime lenses as well. sweat.gif

Japanese manufacturers don't promote AI like <insert phone manufacturer>. You will be surprised the scene detection already available at least 10 years ago. laugh.gif
RX100 III is the way to go.

The most famous one out there is Olympus TG5. Drop proof, water proof. I assume your budget is RM 3k+, not RM 300+. If RM 300+, yilek.

Go for XT2 if you prefer not to edit a lot. If you don't mind more post processing, go A7ii. I would go XT2 personally for the famous fuji colors.

Between the 2 option, go for XT20 for faster AF.

Depends on your usage. XT-2 will have better AF performance and has the "fuji" colours, but the A7ii has better noise control and dynamic range. A7ii has a full frame sensor and XT-2 has a crop sensor, but to many people this does not matter. For my own use i prefer the A7ii, and considering that the A7ii is only about rm3.5k now, its a very good deal. But ymmv.

Am thinking to get D5600 from above choices, but it is a 2016 model. I think D5700 is coming soon but I'm going to travel in 2 - 3 months later.

Any recommendation for casual travel photography. Prefer sharper photos. Not professional, will rely on Auto-focus more.

Thank you in advance. smile.gif

Heya folks, been thinking about getting a new camera to retire my Nikon D3200 now.

Type of camera/lens/accesories : APS-C or Full-frame DSLR camera
Budget : MYR 5000 - 9000.
Your Location : Malaysian Borneo.
Preferable brand : Any brand would do
Type of photography u want to do : Landscape, panoramic, Night sky photography since I travel to the jungle and beaches quite a lot.
Any specific models in mind? : Pentax K-70 and Pentax K-1 Mark II. Both have Astrotracer which is handy when it comes to chasing the stars in the sky (night sky photography) and they are weather-resistant. Has anyone used any of the mentioned camera before? If so, how is the experience?
Any specific features u want? : rugged and weather-resistant, with a good selection of wide and telephoto lens.

Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. smile.gif

If you're looking for DSLR then Sony is out of the question. You can go for either Canon or Nikons entry level DSLRs
