most of us buys MS points, game expansions/add-on requires them as well as season pass. if you have never purchase any of this ill say you have been missing alot even with a xbox live gold account... there is also plenty of nice xbla games out there.

in the article it means to change points system to real world currency, i dont really mind if the game we buy is the same value or cheaper, but i could say it will be difficult for us to buy games in different region. example we will be using RM to buy games in SG$ or it doesnt happens at all with the region lock payment gateway.

There will always be topup card. not much of a different to me as long tha game value is the same. I prefer real world currency though as it's easier to est the value. With current MSP, I had a problem to determine how much value of a 2400MSP game. Then just to realize it's 30usd which seems a lot!!

We'll be doomed! No. Seriously. For now we can get some points cheap if you know where to look, but if all that changed to real money, then we won't get it cheap anymore.

Hopefully we don't need to use credit cards to make purchases. Another PSN disaster waiting to happen

I do purchase Gold before just not the MSP. Reason? I subscribe to Japan Live and the Points are just ridiculous. That's the reason. I am not sure about other region since my GT only has Japan Live. So is that mean that MS trying to make the purchase universal when points are phased out (something like region-free points instead of just region-locked)? Something like Live subscription, any region will do.

Perhaps we can substitute credit cards with debit cards instead. But my previous point still standing.

Tough luck. I believe they'll still implement the region based currency. Doesnt make any sense for SG acc to purchase in USD. Whilst on the other hand, they actually can make universal when using points.

Even now they have Paypal, I'll stick to it. Unless there are cheaper alternative in the forum in the form of prepaid cards. As for credit / debit cards, don't think it will ever support MY card as long XBL aren't officilly launched here.
