QUOTE(tctham @ Feb 6 2012, 08:30 PM) i can't speak for other models.. i've tested on my d5100.. if i set it to timer, and even if i set it to take 2 shots.. it wouldn't do so with the pop-up flash.. however, i am able to take continuous self timer shots with the pop-up flash by using the interval mode.. which sets your camera to take x number of shots within a y interval starting from z time (or now).. not sure if that is helpful. @_@ Thanks!I had a D5100 too... |

QUOTE(ojtee @ Mar 10 2012, 07:12 PM) get an external mic, use a tripod whenever possible, or else use left palm to support, while right hand for controls. you'd probably need a f1.8 lens or fast to get good exposure, or else, your film will look too grainy. How much does a external mic costs?you can only record 20mins max per session, so plan n make the most of it, and dont forget a 30x sdhc card, or else video will lag And how to keep a subject always in focus? Cause it gets very annoying when it the camera keep trying to get the subject into focus while making clicky motor sounds |

The should I lower the bitrate?
The 16k bitrate seems a bit ridiculous for me And should I change the FPS from 25 from 29.97 since I recorded it in 25FPS? Thanks! |

QUOTE(tctham @ Mar 11 2012, 04:54 PM) use manual focus when video recording.. it's easier to control focus via manual than auto.. each scenes don't need to be too long.. you will seldom see scenes longer than 20 secs.. most of it is less than 10 secs i guess.. once you set the parameters, don't change it.. else each time you do anything to your camera will have clicky sounds.. no idea how much external mic costs.. Thanks for reply... So what mode is the most suitable mode for video? Sorry for being a noob here |

How to lock focus on a target while shooting video?
Is there anyway to not focus on anything during shooting video? If video got out of focus scenes, it is impossible to refocus using any software right? |

QUOTE(tctham @ Mar 19 2012, 11:21 PM) But our cameraman is not really good at manual focus lol So I think the best choice is using A with f/1.8 using AF-C with 3D Focus Tracking.. Or is there any other better settings with autofocus? Added on March 19, 2012, 11:27 pmBut why at A mode sometimes the camera auto change to AF-S while there is no AF-C option to choose == This post has been edited by eugene88: Mar 19 2012, 11:27 PM |

QUOTE(hkenh @ Mar 19 2012, 11:34 PM) if your cameraman actually gets better result using the AF for video in the camera than manual focus, perhaps what you need is not some tweak with the functions of the camera, but change your cameraman hahahaha Ok...unless you're shooting a snail crawling, it's much easier to achieve good result using manual focus I'll try my best to see what I can do then Thanks to everyone who have helped me! Still a noob though |
