still keeping with my d90.. now hand a bit itchy to get d7000 aldy.. haih..

bigger sensor and more AF point.. thats the only advantage..

other than that i dont see any major different..

what do you think guys..

p/s:- not really interested in articulated LCD, so dont recommend me to get d5100.. not interested at all tongue.gif
*
The sensor size is the same, just that it's a better sensor with improved metering system. Better ISO performance besides more AF points, higher MP count, faster burst rate and 1080p video recording thumbup.gif

guys, why my nikon d5100 with kit lens can't do like this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qnLpMerZ1w

is it the kit lens not support the auto focus single or what?
*
Use the 4 directional buttons to adjust for AF points to use..afaik

Also try reading up the manual to see how to change to AF-S or AF-C..

Need advice.

Was thinking of getting a used 12-24 or tokina new 11-16 which price range around rm2k. Instead of getting the lens for my d7000, do u think I should instead get a j1 with 10mm or 10-30mm? Need wide lens mainly for indoor shoot. Am no expert is smaller sensor etc but just need to know if I take with a j1 with 10mm lens against above lens, would the out turn of size(not mentioning the quality etc) after develop the picture would b the same, 4r or 8r ?
*
10-30mm is not wide since it's a 2.7x crop, so it's an effective 27mm to 81mm smile.gif

5. 2nd 70-200 vr1 + 2nd 17-55 & sell my sigma

any oppinion guys?

Since you have quite a big budget, should sell of whatever you have now and get a D700+24-70 combo and a nice prime lens(85 f/1.8G or 50 f/1.8G?).

Seriously lolz

Hello gens and ladies, a quick question if I may considering this is the Nikon thread?
I'm thinking of having my d700 service and clean because I can see dusts when I'm looking through the viewfinder. Do you think it's easily cleanable by the service centre?

Got the camera last year so it's within the 1 year warranty period. The thing is I'm probably going to be around Malaysia for 1 week+, what turnaround time do you guys reckon?
*
If Nikon service centre themselves can't clean it, probably no one else can tongue.gif

There is this comment by a professional photographer who currently trying out to work with his D800. He commented that the sharpness, pixel density and ability to use both card format are great, however the downside is that the ISO performance is lower than his D700. He even added that only ISO up to 1250 acceptable by his standard for the D800.

He's one of Asia's top Wedding photographer iirc biggrin.gif

Aiya D700 12mp ISO performance gooding liao. If a camera with 3 times the mp count can still beat D700's ISO performance, I really dunno what to say lol.

D7k got micro af adjustment ah (maybe known as "AF Fine Tuning") ?

AF performance comparable to D300s? How are the outer cross type AF points?

the D800 is really tickling my hands now sweat.gif

and reviews shows that the iso performance is almost on par with the D700. which makes it great considering it has got 36MP drool.gif
*
But why D800? D4 is way more yummy.biggrin.gif

spot on hkenh thumbup.gif

well, to me it is kinda like a minor upgrade from my D3s (just me ya..just me). but the D800 is really yummehhh drool.gif just that one needs to upgrade CF cards and HDD as well tongue.gif
*
I thought D3S owners prioritize AF speed+burst+ ISO performance,etc ? So kinda funny for me that you're interested in a D800 tongue.gif
