got a iriver t9 2 months ago and i was enjoying its stock earphone. then i bought shure se215 and i can only hear flat sound from that mp3 player but full blasting bass and stuffs from my samsung galaxy s2. so should i get an amp or a new mp3 instead? i prefer getting a new mp3 instead because i dont like my pocket being full of stuffs, but if an amp is necessary then i will have no choice.

memory: not an issue but bigger is better (i only keep my favourite songs anyway)
format: FLAC or ALAC? or any other better formats? I am new to this
battery life: above 15 hours would be good
budget: around 700

i tuned my s2 to automatic eq and max all settings in iriver eq

the iriver impedance output is 16ohm and my se215 required 20ohm, that is why i think

so output impedance does not matter?

if lidat then increase to 700 lah. better dac chip and 3 times more amp power in fiio x3ii. (you might want to try the all new x1ii first, as it has an upgraded dac chip)

just pay a visit to stars picker, they are friendly and will give you good advice, you can also demo the units there.
