Hi guys, currently using a sansa clip+ as my DAP, would the Ibasso DX50 or Fiio X3 be a significant upgrade from the sansa? will be pairing it with the TF10, TIA

I see, which one would u recommend? i heard the x3s are quite warm sounding, that's not what i'm looking for, DX50 looks like a great choice but i see people complain bout the UI, I'm leaning more towards the DX50 tho, as long as SQ's good i'm sold

Sup guys, just pulled the trigger on the Ibasso DX50, and well i'm fairly impressed, it really is a big step up from the sansa clip+, very dynamic and great transparency, only complain is it's not as portable as the clip+, fells solid but the size is quite big and have to be quite careful at times fearing I will accidentally scratch the lush and beautiful body, time to get a silicon case
so in my opinion, the DX50 definitely is a great step up from the clip+, albeit the buggy system, the SQ definitely makes it up for me, enjoying music on the DX50 now » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by John6: Feb 28 2014, 10:57 PM |

+1 on sansa clip+, for budget players nothing beats the price performance ratio of the clip+, rockbox the clip+ to unleash its full potential

I only have the clip+ so I can't comment much on the clip zip, but i'm sure both of them won't differ much in term of sonic performance, when i first got my clip+ the first thing i did was rockbox it, the clip+ sounds detailed and fairly neutral, with rockbox u get to fiddle with a lot of settings for example EQ, crossfeed and stereo width to your liking
all in all the clip+ is definitely a bargain and with its small size its really one of the best in terms of portability. I assure you you won't be disappointed |

I've upgraded to 1.2.8 last few weeks ago and it's working wonderfully, scrolling improved and I have forgotten what buggy I have encountered at the first place haha, It's a damn sweet player and i'm really glad I got this DAP.
Now there's rockbox available for the DX50, tried it but still not used to the UI yet, so i'm sticking with the stock firmware atm, will mess around with rockbox when i'm free P.S. yeah mine didn't come with the silicon case, guess mine is from an older batch This post has been edited by John6: Apr 1 2014, 01:10 AM |
