all device firmware takes time, and it lies on how much faith we have on their software team, take ibasso for instance, they have Paul-Ibasso at headfi to handle customer service at the dx90 section, thats a thumbs up from me
*
Also patiently handling every single complaint from headfiers in the DX80 thread.

Alright, thanks for the recommendations. Was thinking to save my wallet a bit, but it seems like X1 is more worth it.

+1 for X1.

But the best value in the FiiO stable is the X3ii. You get nearly the SQ of the X5ii in a smaller and cheaper package.

To keep within budget you can also consider Android phones with good DACs, like LG V10, Samsung Galaxy S4/5/6, Vivo X5 Max, Meizu MX4/5 Pro, Mi Note, or Nexus 5/6P.

Feel like wanna hoot AK300 or Opus1, dunno which one is better biggrin.gif

Get both, sell what you don't like. tongue.gif

As a side note AKs has never sold anything "value for money", so if I were you I'd go for Opus #1.
