I recommend to go test them yourself first. Sometimes your IEM synergy with those DAP might not be to your liking.

I already got a phone that I'm not going to use as dap. This is a second phone that is used to call one number and occasional mp3 player for audiobook.  So a good loudspeaker is a must. 

A dedicated dap is good for music but usually exasperating for navigating  audiobook. Especially when you have lots of book with lots of  chapter and long title.

Dap is overkill for my usage.  And I don't really fancy headphones anymore.  There are not many good Dap with good intuitive interface with good price that have built in speaker.

Until last month, i have a cowon c2 that i use with vsonic vsd1. Unfortunately, i lost it somehow (still got the vsd1 though) . I figure that was probably the universe telling me to upgrade. With rm800 budget which is better:

1) fiio x3ii
2) fiio x1 + decent iem
3) other ideas?

I mainly listen to movie and anime soundtrack, linkin park, tristam, christina perri.. ect

Of course mobile would not be audiophile grade, only want to know what's the best among the worst.

One need to put an affordability, portability and usage criteria. Adding an external speaker is just adding more gadgets to bring. And sound quality would still not be as good as headphones or a good speaker.  But much more portable.

Audiophiles are Neverending quest of better dap,better headphone or better sound system.

DX80 and DP-X1 both are good choices

I like the sound from AK320 but sadly not its price

i'm planning to retire my nearly 3 years old Sansa Clip Zip and currently eyeing on FiiO M3 and X1. is M3 a worthy upgrade from Clip Zip? or should i jump to X1 instead?

Damn nice for Apple lossless format, very cleaned and enhanced bass.

Why used apple? Cause the reason was iTunes free converted from MP3 to AAC format, the sounds sweet & as much detailed.

I am looking to get a portable music player. Must have:

1. At least 32GB space
2. Wifi
3. Bluetooth
4. Able to run Spotify and Podcast

Budget around RM1.5k.

So far that I have found is iPod. I rather not get Apple if I can help it.

Edit: will be using it only with Spotify and podcast offline files.

Or just buy good DAC mobile phone like V20

guys, need recommendation. currently using FiiO X1 1st gen with E11K portable amp, and headphone is mdr-100aap. looking to get new player with wireless option so can upgrade to mdr-1000x in the future.

should i go for NW-A35 or X1 2nd gen?
