Hi Emokia Hehe. Sorry for delaying reply, still researching on other portable audio besides Sony Hehe. It was a tiring long process trying to filter out the devices. None were up to my liking which had Bluetooth on top of the size and sq ;(
So I downgraded my options to blue toothless Haha

Was narrowing down after a number of devices to Cowon i10, Hisound Nova, Colorfly C3 and hm-601.
Gonna forget the hm-601 since the price is way over my budget Haha

Aside from the pros which is great SQ among other things for the Cowon, Hisound and Color fly, I'll just focus on the negatives/cons instead based on what I've read.

Cowon i10
- battery life is quite poor for flacs according to some
- durability/quality check is quite poor compared to the past
- annoying capacitive touch buttons
- no expandable memory slot

Hisound Nova (after latest firmware update)
Was really leaning towards this until i read many users nightmare dealing with this..
- non user friendly updates for non chinese readers
- poor support for flac, skipping the first half a sec at the start of each songs and occasional background noise
- hissing noises still apparent when reading/playing songs from sd card
- buggy interface
- occassional crashes

Colorfly C3
- weird awkward touch buttons
- no FM radio? Aikz ;(
- bulkier compared the other 2
- battery life for flac not that great either
- no customizing eq (con for some)

regarding i10, battery life quite the same either playing flac or mp3. i usually disable sleep function and use power off instead to increase battery life. touch buttons can be troublesome at 1st but nothing major. overall quality is great with matte surface. it match my hf5 perfectly smile.gif

I read someone did a continuous test run on flacs and the player died off after 8-10 hours while MP3 more than 14-16 hours. Have you tested yours? Maybe depends on users luck if they get a better battery copy wink.gif

Anyone knows how the sansa clip+, cube c30 and hippo gumstick sound quality compare to colorfly c3 and Cowon i10?

And also sansa vs cube and hippo?

yep gonna use with iem.
i'm leaning more towards getting sansa clip+ for jogging/exercise and colorfly c3 for more serious listening =)
heard the cube c30 is slightly better than the sansa clip, but decided on the sansa just for the clip lol

Hi, I'm looking for a high capacity MP3 player. Only for songs. Can be MP4 or whatever but not too big. Are there any Media player have large storage capacity of 80gb and above beside iPods?

Tough luck.
Sony Walkman Z only max at 64Gb, and that is Japan-only model.
If you're willing to go for microSD card, there is AK100.
Comes with 32Gb built-in memory but also has 2 slots for microSD cards,
giving u a maximum of 32Gb + 128Gb memory

Creative makes some good high capacity MP3 players. The 60 Gigs Zen can be considered. Or you can go for Zune, the Zune HD has up to 64 Gigs. The previous version has 80 and 120 Gigs.
Cowon also has a 120 and 160 Gigs variant, the Cowon X7.
Why do you need 80 Gigs anyway? I'm kinda interested.

Had the Hippo Gumstick... starting to die...

I got RM200 on hands...

what player would be the best to replace the Gumstick other than Cube C30?

say... my requirements are
-able to play wav, flac and ape
-easy to read screen/interface
-expandable memory
-small or thin
-long lasting battery(not necessary)

I've seen Sansa Clip+ and Sansa Fuze... not sure if it's a wise choice to change there

What's wrong with Sansa Clip+? I don't own one, but from what i've read up the SQ is almost on par with Cube C30 and it's alot easier to navigate through songs. Only concern i have is the durability since i've read a number of people having their players die off after a year =/
Was thinking of getting myself a Sansa Clip Zip as well for jogging/gym purposes.

However if you could increase your budget to slightly above RM300, i'd recommend Colorfly C3.

Sound wise I think theyre almost the same N1 has bassier signature while C3 has cleaner sound.

Nova N1 comes with PAA-1 Pro which is a very well received stock earbuds.

Need recommendation for: Portable Music Player

Source : 320kbps, flac/APE(optional)

Equipment : Pioneer SE-M290(Full cans, RM150), Govibe Minibox Amp(RM200)

Requirement : Sound quality must be at least better than normal PC AudioOUT with a normal soundcard(on board or Realtek etc)

Others: Battery Life > songs capacity

Budget : RM200-RM350

Thank you.

Side note(with equipments above):
1. Tested on Ultrabook Acer S7(normal soundcard), Nokia Asha 302, iPod Shuffle 4th gen and Gaming PC with Asus Xonar DG sound card.
2. SQ result: Xonar DG > Ultrabook Acer S7 > Nokia Asha 302 > iPod Shuffle(its quality can throw and feed to dogs)
3. At first I tot the SQ issues lies within the headphone, but then difference DAC really matters. Gonna use that Shuffle for Squash...
