I hope you all don't mind me writing my own opinion here about this session.
I feel sometimes if we personally think there's a chance to do something (eg: to go up n steal/intercept the ball), (if can lah) as a teammate TRY not to ask ur own teammate to do something else (eg: come back down n stay to defend) because I'd feel 'oh ok then, i'll just stay back n defend all the way then...' I personally feel it will affect your confidence in going upfront during the game. One would have to constantly give motivation & applauses to teammates when one scores a goal OR even accidentally made a mistake n let in a goal (to keep the team morale up). It's a casual session anyway, right? We learn from mistakes, if we realized the way we're playing ain't working for us, we'll know how to switch it. Also during defending, I personally feel it's not always necessary to 'man mark' each person as I realized I've been asked by teammates to do so many times. As long as we know what we're doing it should be fine. I always approach the zonal marking+pressing with a slightly further distance from the opposition n 'predict' where the ball/player is gonna move next. At least it gives us lesser distance to catchup if the player run past / passes the ball so u can intercept. I also think zonal marking reduces injuries to happen as compared to man mark too! I'm sure we don't want any injuries to happen if possible, right? |
