ok i read mostly , or should be majority of SGS 2 with G version having camera failure problem..
i am one of the G version user having camera failure problem and its kinda frustrated
how ever i solve my problem after google works and asking around..

I'm NOT going to take any responsibility if you permanently bricked your phone or your girlfriend/boyfriend breakup with you because of this . My experience say only people who don't read and don't follow the step properly will brick your phone..

the tricks to overcome camera failure issue is by replacing your phone camera.apk
the first thing you need to do is root (which give you power to modify your phone system)
here is the link for rooting your G version.

ok, after root then what? you can solve it by follow this few simple step.
1.download this root browser via android market in your phone

or any browser you prefer, but must support root so it can modify data in your system..

2.Download the only 1 of this 3 attachment at bottom of this post.

3.Open your root browser and browse to /system/app, and move your 'Camera.apk' and 'Camera.odex' (for use as a backup) or you just delete it
(cz its rubbish that cause camera fail, it cant do the job so throw it to thrash bin )

Don't worry, if you really deleted and want back here is the stock rubbish camera.apk
Stock Camera SGS2

4.Copy the camera.apk that you downloaded and place it in /system/app

5.Close your Root Browser and run the camera.

6.Tadaaa you are done

Try reboot if it dont works..
or

If the camera fails to run or shortcut is missing. Go back to /system/app with your root browser and try to install it. DO NOT DO SO IF YOU SUCCESS run the camera

I just did it by setting "anti shake" to off.
Problem solved.

Will get back with the results of turning anti-shake off in reducing camera failed =)

Im still having problem even after rooting and replace the camera.apk file. Any suggestion on how to resolve this issues. Feeling annoyed with this already. Planning to switch to i4s if problem persist.

I managed to do the superatmos thingy using Odin but do I have to do the superrom 3.0 thing ? BTW mine is G version. So do I have to do the superrom 3.0 thing and then copy back the camera.apk file ?

so far i get error twice.. superrom 3.0 camera layout nice.. but i get error in tht camera more than this.. ><

I'm pretty sure whatever problem g users are having is not caused by a hardware problem, I guess most of the problem should go away once cm9 gets stable. Since cm9 won't have any of the Samsung crap and its build from source by the godly codeworkx

rooted and using superrom 2.0 but still having problem camera failed. then back to stock ROM 2.3.6 but the DZKJ2 version also having camera failed prob. planning to send back to service center.

its same.. my brother with dzkl3 also got this prob..

Still having camera failed. I bought last month .come with dzkl3 , revert too dzkj2 for easy rooting. Changed apk. Still fail . Possible other cam apps clash with ea other?

any one got any idea how to solve this issue ?

So far i flashed mine to kl2, root it with doomlord method, use superatmos kernel. Set cpu to 1200. No crash. Only crash once when i try to set cpu back to 1008.
