I have a 6 months old LG 1 hp air conditioner ICE RH10 (purchased from Best Denki) in the room. It could never make my room cold unless i leave it to run 6 hours minimum to run at 18 degrees maximum fan speed.
I called LG Dream Service 180082282 5 times and they come out with excuses that all airconds are the same and my room is too big. I asked them to top up the gas and it felt cool but lasted about a week then back to awful cooling performance again.
Before I had a Toshiba Daisekai 1 hp for 5 years and it gets cold after half an hour of running at 18 degree maximum fan speed, then had to turn the temperature to 24 degree, otherwise too cold. Unfortunately I had to replaced it after an air conditioner servicing man(Jason) fouled up the machine during his acid wash and cleaning. It develop noises also.
The room is about 15 ft by 10 ft. The piping are wall concealed to the compressor outside.
What could be wrong?
Should I go for another air conditioner brand? If so, which model is known for really cold air conditioning?

Thank you for the replies. Happy new year to all here. Today, LG Dream service came to check. They said gas was at 90 and too high. So they level it off to 70. Then they took a pen and reset my remote control. They said air conditioner is working well. After finishing their work, I invited them to another room, similar size with same windows coverage but with more sunlight shining as it was morning. They were surprised and one said they can immediately feel the difference when the door was opened for them to enter. It was a Toshiba Daisekai 1 hp running which never been serviced since new. The blower fan and filter gets cleaned by my father a few times a year and been re-gassed once since new which was more than a year ago. So I asked them how come my Toshiba is able to make that room colder within half an hour whereas the 6 months old LG takes hours during the day to cool the room? The man with all smiles said the Toshiba is more expensive so better quality so that's why! Any truth in this?
