From my experience, SMS sent occasionally goes "missing" aka the supposed receiver does not receive them. Happened to me (on a non-credit card related matter) for the 2nd time this Friday.
What then if there is a fraudulent transaction, the bank claimed it sent an SMS but we didn't receive it? It'll be much easier to shift the blame on us customers after the introduction of this SMS alert thingy.
