Then today I got another SMS. This time the card number is mine.

At the application form for CIMB cards, there is an option to tick the min threshold. RM1k, RM2k, RM3k and RM5k only. The bank defaults value applies if left blank. There is also a box to tick for unsubscribing from the SMS alert.

You may want to ask for explanation from MBB as they have indicated that auto debit will trigger an sms all the time.

QUOTE
An alert shall be sent for transactions where the card is not presented such as online transactions, auto debit or mail order transactions.

QUOTE(Denis @ May 30 2012, 10:21 AM)
Can anyone tell me what to do about it:-

1) In April 2012, I called to MBB that I wanted SMS Alert with the threshold at RM10.
The CS said OK, but no SMS feedback to tell that you SMS Alert was on.
All my transaction did not have any SMS Alert after that.

2). In the beginning of May 2012, I called again, the CS told me that my SMS Alert feature was on but the Alerts did not account for petrol consumption.
So far, no SMS Alert for either petrol consumption or any other transactions purchase at the counters.

3) Just few days ago, I called back and asked the CS why there was no SMS Alert for all my transactions, she said that because there was  no record for my mobile phone number and need to take one week to do the processing.
Weird to the answer that no mobile phone number on the system, the previous CS had already gotten my number and update into the system...

I feel that there is something wrong with the MBB SMS Alert System... rclxub.gif

I advise you to email your request to maybank as an official record, and follow up. I am not surprise with this 'arrogance' shown by Maybank since Bank Negara is not serious about this SMS alert. Even the person in charge (Bank Negara staff) for matters related to Maybank is not serious.

E-mail mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my
Is this e-mail address? I got it from the Maybank2U credit card webside.
Do I need to attention to whom?

BTW, if I complain them using e-mail, that mean I need to identify my credit card numbers to them via e-mail, is it safe to do so? hmm.gif

On the other hand, my spouse get  SMS Alert for every transaction, the only difference is she is Gold Card, I m Platinium, we ask for SMS Alert almost the same time.
*
Yes, that is the one. Your CC number is ok. Just address sir/madam.

I did not receive SMS alert for one oversea online transaction. After lodging a complain with BNM, MBB replied saying that no SMS because it was a recurring transaction. I refuted the claim as it was a one off transaction and only the secon time doing online transaction. Now still pending reply.

This is the sternest respond from BNM after I filed a complain on one bank who did not adhere to the SMS requirement:

We should also complain about AEON Credit Services... are they under BNM's jurisdiction ?

I think it applies too, since it is a credit card product.
