QUOTE(DuO LoN @ Jan 6 2017, 06:27 PM) alot of agents don't tell you alot of things, such as excess/deductible and limit of liability differences. those who don't tell you of the existence of deductibles are one of the worst crooks. imagine buying a policy with a deductible of RM10k. then after you are hospitalised suddenly you realize you need to fork out the RM10k deductible up front first. Very true, its best for you guys to look at the benefit table of the particular medical plan, to make sure there's no co-insurance. |

QUOTE(TracyL @ Jan 18 2012, 11:32 PM) Dear buddies, RM 500.00 per year budget? My brother wish to buy medical insurance. He is very headache which one shall choose. He is age 38. anyone can help ? He is quite healthy and no medical history. But his budget is tight and preferably below RM500. Thanks a lot. Regards, Tracy I am afraid there is no insurer for H&S policy at that price range for 38 year old person. Up his budget to RM 1,400.00 - get the MCIS Max Health 150 Awesome coverage , lowest price amongst peer. Or option two: Walk into any of those general insurance center and buy off the shelf medical card. They are usually cheap and basic. Serves your basic need. No frills, no bells and whistles. Just plain boring H&S (med card). And ... also no pesky agents. You get rebate as well if you DIY it, as there will be no agent serving you. Only drawback for DIY is, if you need to claim, you also need to DIY. Fair no? Xuzen This post has been edited by xuzen: Aug 29 2017, 02:15 PM |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Sep 14 2017, 12:24 PM) Thanks ckdenion! Any recommendation on which company to go about? I read some of these banking term insurance..eg for accident they don't cover for extreme sports...some even don't cover for flights unless you paid for it I think..the coverage is it the same across the popular insurance companies like prudential? I'm not interested at critical illness..more on accident, TPD and death |

Not sure whether you are looking for conventional or takaful one. I'm responsible for Takafu under PruBSNl. You can let me know if you want to explore further. Its not limited to any race or religion in case you wondering the coverage is it the same across the popular insurance companies like prudential? I'm not interested at critical illness..more on accident, TPD and death Since you mentioned Prudential, I guess it is conventional. For accident/TPD/death, normally it is not costly depending on your work class and age. Smokers/non smokers play a small part too. You can always shop around. I'm sure you will find plenty. |

Majority co will increase premium of every policy holder for internal reasons, usually will be high claim ratio.

Appreciate some enlightenment here.
Notice from the link that Xuzen gave, FSM Insurance says can save up till 30% commission [https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/insurance/product-comparison/compare/health], but from other links and a search on the internet, reveals insurance agent earns about 70-130% in commissions from the premium paid Eg of a link : https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1288445/all Thus, this would seem that FSM insurance is making some commissions too? If so, I can just walk into any of the insurance companies and save the 70-130% commission instead of buying from FSM? If so, what's the point of buying from FSM then? Thanks in advance This post has been edited by abcn1n: Oct 15 2017, 09:35 PM |

QUOTE(abcn1n @ Oct 15 2017, 09:34 PM) Appreciate some enlightenment here. Getting an agent to service is good at times when you have problem filing a claim or need a person who has experience in claim to appeal for you.Notice from the link that Xuzen gave, FSM Insurance says can save up till 30% commission [https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/insurance/product-comparison/compare/health], but from other links and a search on the internet, reveals insurance agent earns about 70-130% in commissions from the premium paid Eg of a link : https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1288445/all Thus, this would seem that FSM insurance is making some commissions too? Thanks in advance If you think FSM is not earning a single cent out of you, you're kind of mistaken in a way. Otherwise why would they bother to promote it ? Charity ? Plus if I am FSM, I won't need to service you, just take your money and go service urself. However if you're trying to save all the commission and not want to pay for any service, then self service is the way. |
