Thanks for info.

RM2k per service is normal service at Auto Bavaria?
Normal service as in only change of oil filter and engine oil?

2008 523i means no more warranty and BSRi expired.

Normal service such as oil and oil filter change at other workshops cost around RM400+

TS, I suggest you to ask in a proper BMW owner's forum rather than here smile.gif As an owner of the car myself, normal service isn't expensive, RM400-600 depending on the engine oil used. You do not need to do it in AB because there are many BMW specialist around these days. Other than that it would be the normal wear/tear items. 08' E60 should be the LCI model which will give you engine output very similar to pre-LCI 525's.

Actually if you do it in Auto Bavaria/Ingress, etc then it will easily be RM1500-2000 per service smile.gif Some people continue to send their cars there even after the warranty expires. Authorized dealers are always expensive and even a service for Honda Accord in Honda Malaysia will be around RM500.

Personally, I will never go back to the authorized dealer if my car does not have warranty.

Always put Auto Bavaria as the last option to service your car

their service sucks. sleep.gif
Biasalah GLC company (Sime Darby).

I think everything will require proper planning before you buy it.
There are more options available like Audi, Benz and Volks.
I believe even though you are rich you should still do your financial planning properly.
Else, you will most probably run broke b4 you notice it.

Yes, i heard the electronics are expensive.
But if normal service is around RM400-500 then it is consider affordable.
I know AB will need at least RM1k to just check your car for any problem without changing anything.

Service for my Renault is around RM 200, a bit more perhaps. How much can I save...? What if the others screw up my car? Just to save a few RM? Better be save than sorry. smile.gif

However 2k is a bit extreme.

Buy the original oil filter from BMW stockist and the engine oil directly from petrol stations if you're worried. These will ensure they are genuine and then pay labor charges to the BMW specialist. They don't dictate you MUST use their parts.

Its owner's choice/preferences...and owners' money btw... smile.gif

i think i made up my mind to go svc outside..as for my car even the whole engine failure also no worries..my car type/model spare parts is everywhere..
even the engine screwed up no worries for me.. i just get the car transplanted with new heart for less than 3.5k with installation included.

the remaining sparepart leftover from original can be sell separately summore thumbup.gif already go through this once.. cos why? its my choice.. smile.gif

I owned BMW e60 523i 2.5L 2008 LCI..

Maintenance cost around RM400 - RM500 per 10k millage
- Engine oil RM195 (castrol edge fully synt) x 2 bottle (It required 6.5L) = RM390
- Oil filter RM40
- Labour =RM50(but i do it for my self so it free)
Total RM = RM480 for me only RM430

Road tax for 2.5L RM800++/year

Insurance RM 2k / year for 1st year
