Just do some research on the web and the local market around you. See which type of Roof Covers suites your taste and also match with your House's Balcony. Modern ones are Tempered Glass but it can't block sun light and hard to maintain its cleanliness. Just my 2cents

QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Jan 18 2012, 10:29 AM) Hi Guys, Balcony is supposed to be roofless so that you enjoy the night sky having a beer, tea and relax so that you can see the moon and the stars and the cold wind. With a box-in balcony you are turning your balcony into a white elephant and i bet you will not use it. During the day you can forget about it. OUr weather is hot and even with a roof you will think of a fan unless the roof is solid roof tiles not glass or poly.My master room having a 10 ftx 10 ft balcony & it is roofless now. Have any idea how much cost to cover it with roof? If you must have a roof, get one that is foldable one like those kopitiams fabric ones. You may not like the look compare to poly/glass. |

Like other say, depend on design, and purpose. If you want to block rain and want it nice. Glass is good (but depend your house design)
Glass can block heat, but need to have glass with UV block or use tint. Glass. Glass with build in UV block is not cheap, and only some contractor doing it. Last year I ask, it was about RM 110 / sqft for a 10mm Tempered Glass. |
