Both of it in the same price range, but which one is the better option??

I don't plan to run multiple GC, so CF is not a concern for me.....

Go for a full powered P8Z68-V instead.
P8Z68-V ~RM589 << Not sure if still available or replaced by all Gen3 already as not listed in pricelist
P8Z68-V Gen3 RM689

no point going for gen 3 if just because PCIE 3.0....since benchmark showed that there is no different between PCIE 2.0 and PCIE 3.0 in result biggrin.gif (if TS going for ivy...then i dunno dy)

You need an Ivy Bridge Processor on that board to unlock the Gen3. That's why the first in my list is the original one, but it seems to be no longer listed in Viewnets pricelist

Added on January 17, 2012, 6:19 pmUse the Add to compare list and compare feature on Asus site. Mostly, LE isn't that good for dual Graphics card as the second slot uses 4x.
Also, the power phase on LE is inferior to the non-LE = not so good for overclocking.
LE no bluetooth

If you are just planning light overclocking, you may find the LE sufficient.

im not saying about PCIE3.0 on Z68...im saying about X79...7970 was tested on both PCIE2.0 and 3.0 slot on X79 chipset...nothing different

nope...gigabyte not recommend..im using Z68Xp-UD3P ,and i get this:
pros:
nice layout desgin on mobo
cheaper price compared to asus & msi

cons:
slow post screen(VERY VERY VERY SLOW!!!)
old BIOS(complex rclxub.gif rclxub.gif )
need higher Vcore to maintain stability than MSI and Asus
onboard audio chip might have lower quality than MSI and Asus(THX)

so if i can pick again..i wont choose gigabyte
