Apple Co-Founder Wozniak Prefers Android To iPhone

Wozniak's love for Android is a little strange as you don't expect people engrained in Apple's culture to be Android fans.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak likes Android smartphones better that his company's iPhone. Despite the fact that Google's Android is the biggest competitor of Apple, Wozniak admits that the open source platform is better in many ways.

According to a Daily Beast report, Wozniak says that Android scores better than iPhone in certain situations like voice commands and GPS. He adds, “I have a lower success rate with Siri than I do with the voice built into the Android, and that bothers me. I’ll be saying, over and over again in my car, 'Call the Lark Creek Steak House,' and I can’t get it done. Then I pick up my Android, say the same thing, and it's done. Plus I get navigation. Android is way ahead on that.”

It is worth mentioning here that his partner Steve Jobs hated Android. Jobs said that he wanted to destroy Android because he felt that it copied Apple's ideas. But Wozniak's love for Android is a little strange as you don't expect people engrained in Apple's culture to be Android fans.

Apple and Google have shared a 'sour' relationship so far mainly because of the patent and popularity issues. Android has gained much popularity in the smartphone domain, which was earlier dominated by Apple devices. Buy Woz's love for Android as a technology is above all these. It was his fondness for Android that he was seen hanging out at Google's campus scanning the pre-release version of Google's latest flagship phone in November. Woz has a pragmatic approach on this. He says, “I’ve known Andy (Rubin) a long time, and I respect him a lot.”

He shares with Daily Beast, “My primary phone is the iPhone. I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do.” But he maintains that iPhone is the best choice for many users. Wozniak adds, “The people I recommend the iPhone 4S for are the ones who are already in the Mac world, because it’s so compatible, and people who are just scared of computers altogether and don’t want to use them. The iPhone is the least frightening thing. For that kind of person who is scared of complexity, well, here’s a phone that is simple to use and does what you need it to do.”

He has always been an android fan.

Can't blame him. He is a technical person. As any technical person may it be engineers or IT personnel generally prefer Android over iPhone due to the flexibility of the phone.

The things they can do on Android are mainly not limit by the manufacture.

However, Apple on the other hand limits all kind of things.

People who doesn't like to fiddle with their phones too much would generally prefer iPhone.

apple are for those noobs who cant really utilise complicated gadgets.

all their products are a copy of another. starts with ipod. iphone is just ipod with call and text capability. ipad is a bigger version of ipod, nuff said.

apple product as a phone? no. but ipod? ill say yes. easy use, and comes with cool apps.
