maybe around 200km in city 100 km on highway.. i use my normal save petrol tactics, coast down hill etc etc

got maybe 3 - 4 times bumper bumper traffic jam only leh..

is the FC jump very big? is there smt wrong that i should go check out?

i did the TDC modifier where they solder the wire on the sensor... so it is still the TDC problem?

Hmm okay.. i think maybe TDC sensor.. cos when i think back got a bit of jerking... but i tot is cos i release clutch too fast.. jerking also not severe..

okay if it is tdc sensor, and i go diy clean myself and can start the car, must bring to workshop to fix or just forever will have this problem and have to clean it once in a while?

Wah so update today..

last few days i try start cannot... then today i call tow truck come already.. etiqa got free 50km tow.. then i try try can start already.. try turn off and on a couple of times can start de..

so i still dunno whats the problem.. TDC sensor is modified to soder the wire on.. thats why i was doubtful the sensor problem leh..

anyway when i called the RS auto person he said the TDC sensor modifier thing last one year only leh..

what is the "jerky" 2nd gear feeling like? cos i don't get jerky unless i clutch control bad and lugging the gear but when get enough speed, can already..

what do you guys think should i still bring to RS auto or renuatech to check?

will it like crap out on me halfway driving or smt?

If TDC sensor is not the issue then fuel pump could be the cause. 1 SG Savoc has experience it.

but both ways still got to bring it in to the workshop?

Added on January 3, 2013, 7:07 pmBREAKING NEWS!! RS AUTO HAS MOVED AND CHANGE NAME!

RS Auto is now at

TNH Auto
No.18 Jalan Unggul Section 25/40, Taman Sri Muda
40400 Shah Alam, Selangor

It doesn't show up on google maps so look for
Jalan Gigih 25/41, Taman Sri Muda,

They just moved 2 weeks ago, so dun have signboard yet, they are opposite Teoh Brothers Tyre Shop..

Anyway I drove to them to check out my car why 2 days cannot start
They resoldered the TDC sensor and cleaned it - rm30

After i drove away, still got the jerky gear 2.. so i drove back,
Replace Petrol Filter - 30 RM
Replace Spark plug x4 - 80 RM
Clean Throttle Body - 20 RM
Labour - 20 RM

total damage RM180..

It was a good thing i came back to get it check cos they left the white clip in my engine fan after cleaning the TDC sensor and so the fan couldn't turn on..

They broke the white clip though =((

The Mr Hoe wasn't in, he told me of the new address and to drive back to the workshop over the phone. was serviced by Mr Hoe's brother, i think his younger brother.. he said he was Mr hoe's brother la... i think younger cos he looks youngish (young adult maybe 30?)

Quite nice, willing to explain when i ask him about stuff. works quite fast also,

Counting my Savvy, got 3 Savvys there..

David were you there? I saw a Red Savvy that looks like your picture and one old man sitting waiting for his to be done.. haha

I WAS in Teoh brader in the evening, but the Kemuning branch. So, the old man you saw is not me sleep.gif By the way, my Sabby got Hello Kitty, so very easy to recognize geh icon_idea.gif Other than that, you can only recognize my Sabby if you hear loud induction sound when I was driving cause the material I'm using resonating pretty well.
Not a problem smile.gif I'm just seeking advice incase I need to DIY in the future icon_rolleyes.gif By the way, your Sona Kia FC quite powderful wei. Better than Sabby shocking.gif

Give the Melaka dude a call, ask for quotation 1st lar. Why so negative keep on mentioning 12k? You know I know Savvy not worth 12k nowadays, and will never going to replace those things with 12k, coz I just bought my car for 7k few months ago. Nowadays very convenient already since most of us knowing the AMT can be repair, and repair cost is usually a small fraction of 12k(replacing the whole thing). So, please do consider to repair it with the few vendor I've recommended you.

wah you bought so cheap!

7k for savvy
wat year? which line?

Hey guys! After drove long distance this time heading to east coast, my savvy couldn't start due to faulty fuel pump. After parked overnight at house, next day couldn't start thought it was TDC sensor.

For high mileage users, this is another part you need to take care of, fuel pump. Mine is alrady 160000km.

Thumbs up to RHB Insurance, fast and hassle, towed to PE. I was impressed with PE's pomen knowlege on Savvy, explained a lot of other things like AMT and stuffs. If you read my earlier post my first breakdown was during CNY due to overheat flywheel melting my TDC sensor.

RM300 for the part and 50 for labour at PE>

What is PE?

my savvy coming up to 100k KM soon i thinking i should send to get full check up.. clutch, fuel pump, etc etc anyone recommend good place to go or know how much this kind of check up will cost?

Anybody know where to convert to Manual.. and the rough cost? Possible to know 2nd Hand manual parts and new manual parts..

Haih..AMT Robotic arm repaired(Jan2012), Clutch Pump repair(Jan2013)..  but everything seems not right.. like wanna break again.

Thanks in advance
*
It was said somewhere in the threads before that it is easier to just buy a new manual car than convert the gear box..

savvy manual 2005 can get for like RM 7k..
