all setting already stock.. air filter, exhaust (r3).. before this no grawl engine sound at around 2k rpm only after 3k will the exhaust noise appear..

some problem relate on amt that i read up in link above :
1 - hydraulic pump (new cost 2k, can repair just change brush inside less 1oo)
2 - accumulator (need replace cause this thing have wear n tear lifespan - 1000+)
3 - electronic related - some said problem cause by power not sufficient for hyd. pump ( put capacitor to rectify ) battery must in good condition on all time..
4 - oil seal on hyd. cylinder ( same, can fix less 200)

best if u can contact professional foremen that know what to do with the amt box such as osman baba (Central Region United)/ kirol san (North Region United).. you can call him(no at previous 1-2 pages) to make an appointment..

what kinda problem u have?
1 = amt light on, cant engage gear D at all.. amt ecu send protection code to robotic..
2 & 3 = same as above cause not enough pressure for robotic to work..

4 = pump keep on running @ hissing sound not stopping after u switch key before start.. should hiss a bit then stop, then only start..

*my little bit of knowledge from savoc.net forum.. really help a lot of savvy owner that drive amt..

my problem maybe simple and i like to share so that other can have some idea or know what symptom or solution if same problem arise on their car.


list to do on my car :

- solve the noise engine problem
- change timing belt and the other 2 belt plus pulley + waterpump
- change fuel pump n fuel filter

mine crack before, did small DIY with metal o ring and super glue. volla.. like new.. cost less rm3..

sorry guys.. did not have time to check the car that sunday (night) + night time so idid not aware of this thing..
this car is currently at seremban ( my dad house ) while i work in kl weekdays.. only weekend at parent house..
anyway thanks for all the suggestion on repair..

will update on status of my car later cause mechanic take car next monday, he just inspect this morning and said next week he will tow it to his shop..

depend bro, if the car emit white smoke mean piston ring n seal are no good using thinner oil such 10w40.. thats why he suggest use 10w50 (thicker oil)..

but thicker oil = heavy fluid = higher fuel consumption..

no need use 10w50 if engine still ok..

mine still using 10w40 (liquimoly).. superb smooth..

I might change timing belt, aircond belt, alternator belt, pulley and bearing and waterpump together since car is now on tow to shop to fix the broken bolt problem..

already reach 179,000km.. time for 2nd belt..

place to repair savvy :

1 ) osman baba dell cun auto
2 ) william renautech
3 ) ho rsauto

meter drop = speed sensor
gear 3-4 jerks = dirty trottlebody or worse case ignition coil problem

*look like we need to spoon feed every new savvy owner that come in for the same problem again and again..

about the jec cable, my car on it now.. already use for more then 30,000km..

so far so good.. plus price not expensive.. 210 only..

looks small to me..

me using 15" 6.5jj and tyre is 195/50/15.. rub at back but change to perdana spring to make it harder.. slight rub if behind got passenger on uneven road..

well, thats depend.. not all amt senang kaput one.. some are lemon from factory..
others just need to take care of the amt oil, then the voltage (battery)..
other than that, is wears and tears.. dont expect you buy 2nd hand car and u want it to perform like new.. must have some spare money to fix one..

one of the senior nru savoc member had his amt savvy from 2005 til now.. so far so good..
somehow, its depend on your pocket and how much u will to spend for the car..

i myself want to purchase an amt at first but end up got my hand on manual, all after read and advices from fellow savoc / savvy owner club members.. but few month

about the conversion, yup.. buy a halfcut manual / talking bout whole engine, gbox, wiring if possible, ecu and so on.. better take from owner that convert his car to starlet or such.. must make sure part in good condition.. around 3-5k..

if its me on your shoe, i will opt for repair and prevention maintenance..
go for good amt service from foreman that already mention in here..
they can help u fix or better if u leave the car to be inspect and get a major overhaul / good service on the amt parts..
maybe for less then 3k..

MT in kl is urghhhH~ its the reason why my MT savvy is in seremban..
love my wife AT suzuki swift much in kl daily driving.. (happy.gif)/ <3

so savvy can change to flat bed one?

talking bout hub detached.. had the issue before.. bearing kaput and make the wheel fly off..

best diagnosis to this is, burning smell on hub and nice weird sound at 60kmh..

sound like need to top overhaul from my experience on my dad car.. worse case, all internal is bengkok because piston jem..

please bring to reliable mechanic to look after your car..


the temp problem might be motor fan, radiator blockage or simple as fuse for motor fan or the temp sensor..
radiator empty is a sign to kill off the engine before further damage which i think too late for your case..

*just my 2 cent comment.. do update on your car condition.. major repair or just simple one done.. ok..

if top overhaul = ~ rm2-3k.. depend on what to be replace..

owh.. stuttering is cause by coil.. good.. different prob then the overheat..

what i read up and translate is the overheat make the car slow and heavy pickup..

so coil + thermostat = ~ rm500-600 depend on what type of coil.. the ori renault or aftermarket.. aftermarket cause you rm190 + / -..

termostat housing is less 100.. changed mine before at proton..

my car also got this tayar tanggal problem before.. stupid rear spindle problem..

gone to proton once on 2009, they said need to leave car.. i malas so i skip change (me 2nd owner)..

2012, bearing change twice in 3 month, magician say spindle problem.. go proton to change, they said claim already no more.. dammit.. it cost my lil bro in law nearly 500 if not mistaken.. he the one drive the car at that time.. me drive wifey car..

now waiting for the fuel pump to kaput.. ask my bro to change (rm400+), he insist..

waiting for him to drive and cant start later.. that's when he will cry.gif & realize, prevention is better then cure..

oh ya, what speed are you at during the wheel fly off?
the symptom is noisy bearing + awful burning metal/tire smell outside your car..

my lil bro got the fly off accident during a magician testing his car to find the culprit of noise and smell..

hope all other pre 2006 savvist go change the spindle now for better peace of mind..

*a week before the accident, my bro in law did 160kmh on that car chasing gtr35.. haha.. glad it did not happen during the crazy act.. sweat.gif
