if only changing the problem tyre , the new tyre only need balancing rite , alignment no need rite ..  hmm.gif
what a waste all 4 tyre still from stock only run about 15k +  sweat.gif
*
Might need alignment also.. Normally the bulge might have affected the weight distribution of the tire and skewed the alignment of that wheel..

I didn't do sufficient research for PE before buying coz Wira engine kaput, need to get car urgently for my wife (City i drive, wira she drive). Tot PE will be driven by her in Port Klang (lots of lorry) and like Zen mentioned, turns out to be a non-chick male dominated car. So I kena tendang to drive PE coz I drive highway more often and PE does not LOOK suitable for her. So there goes my shiny very well maintained 6 years old City that got "cheong kong" by her.

Now after birth of baby, she say I can have my City back....but the looks on her face when she say that.....nah.....I better keep the PE if I want to maintain my status as a loving husband...
*
Yeah haiz shd have got her a fiesta.. haha.. Then u can keep ur City.. biggrin.gif

Now knn drop till about 360! After CNY need to service and make some basic mods liao. Which brand of Air filter effective? Anybody you know selling?
*
U can buy Works Engineering drop-in air filter, Works LCP, and Denso Iridium Spark Plugs.. Best combo for fuel savings..

mine just 2%... btw my loan start from last year december.
works LCP for what?
*
LCP is to reduce the crank pulley mass, increasing whp and reduce city driving FC a lot..

QUOTE(haur @ Jan 20 2012, 03:12 PM)
Aiks?? Dont reco K&N air filters anymore? Hey buddy, does changing spark plugs outside of SC void the engine warranty?
*
lol nope.. All the while I recommend Works air filter.. hehe.. Never recommended K&N b4.. lol..
Technically yes, but then the SC normally wont be so particular on u changing SP lah..

QUOTE(Bryaner @ Jan 20 2012, 03:15 PM)
aiks.. then KNN air filter le? LCP works better? hmm.gif
*
LCP works is the best balance between performance and budget.. If u willing to spend 600 then can go for mythelogy..
Works better.. K&N if u dont re-oil and just wash with water later the fibre will become brittle and bocor later. .

P/S: Why does it always rain... Grrrr

Hmm y leh? Dont see much bad stories or failed products using works LCP..
Raining good mah.. Ur car Permanon ady.. So definitely damn clean and shiny..

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Jan 20 2012, 08:02 PM)
Happy CNY to all! And drive safely where you go. Arrive in one piece. biggrin.gif

Wanna ask all of you guys. I was quoted RM620 by a Proton SC for a timing belt change and drive belt. The SC mentioned that belt tension will be calibrated properly by a device. Another workshop quoted me around RM500 for the same thing, although I'm not sure that they use a calibration device for the belt tension. Are those the proper quotation? No overcharge?
*
Hmmm change timing belt where got need to use calibration device one? I rmb seeing a shop change timing belt, just put in the new belt, release the tensioner and its done..

*
very big scratch ah? Bumper only isit? THen might be accidental knock on the car lah.. Not ppl intentionally go scratch..

Well, if you search up... Our taikor kcng listed down all those bad things with Works... Useless crap...
*
Hmmm Yeah the FPR definitely do have the whistling sound which is very annoying..
But for the works that i recommend, The drop-in air filter and LCP.. The air filter can really last.. Cos my friend was using the K&N air filter for his Neo. But he didnt use the oiling kit, just wash it every 3k km with water and let it dry.. What happened was the fibre became hard.. And when stones entered the air intake it punctured the filter a bit.. And his throttle body is damn dirty also..

Shyyyt.. Mythlogy so mahal???
Cannot find it sad.gif

Ya loh.. Quality mah.. Got rubber dampener and PTFE coating on top.. hehe..
But too bad im poor kid, so i buy cheaper Works loh.. At least give improvements lah..

QUOTE(Nashraf @ Jan 20 2012, 11:06 PM)
guys, i would like to ask the immo in PE disable which part of the engine?ignition, starter or fuel pump?

and for those kaki genting, is it normal for the car to emit a burning smell halfway uphill?i sensed that smell for a short while during uphill. Mine is an M-line Manual PE.
*
Hmm i think the ignition only.. Cos my car without the immo chip I can start my car using the starter button cos my starter button is wired by wire splicing method..

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Jan 20 2012, 11:16 PM)
Eh, really ah? Then I'll just go do it at the workshop then. The SC mentioned that the tension of the belt needs to be checked by computer to make sure that it's not too tight. My first timing belt change, so I swallowed everything he said.  sweat.gif
*
Ya lah.. I got replace my tensioner b4.. Warranty claims lah.. They remove 1 huge long bolt out. Then they remove the tensioner module.. Then they replace it after that.. Dont see them using any computer to check the tensioner tightness..

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Jan 21 2012, 12:53 AM)
Here is some bad stupid story of Works, literally should be called "Bad Works" OR "No Works"...

KCng's Blog
*
lol.. ok will read read and see.. hehe..
For brake pads we all always recommend Rapidstop 550degree mah.. haha.. Best pads for the money can buy.. Too bad the price of the pads are keeping on increasing..

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Jan 21 2012, 12:56 AM)
And oh regarding drop in, I don't believe it either... Yes, I only believe in drop in for money saving, that's it...

What 1-5% HP increase, not even 0.1 you get...

Your air intake velocity doesn't change, the air route and TB still same... This is the case for Honda with all dyno proof, and this also same to all...

And K&N, the oil is what they so valued, but they dunno the oil is what making the TB dirty either.
*
Well nope i dont feel the point, when u use a drop-in compared to OEM filter, during hot afternoons u can feel that the pickup is much better, and u can feel that the RPM climb during the top end is much faster..

I get your point, but the truth is... Dyno does not lie...

If we have 2 same condition PE, 1 stock filter 1 drop in... I can assure you, the acceleration is same... I do mention there will be 0.1% difference, but our butt dyno can't probably tell lol...
But since you guys got it, its fine... Save replacement money la at least...

Just don't get stainless steel air filter.
*
LOL.. Samwong is using stainless steel air filter.. And his throttle body is dirtier than BeeEnd.. hahaha..

QUOTE(zapdos9 @ Jan 21 2012, 05:29 PM)
Works not dampened?
*
Nope.. But u dont really need a dampened LCP for a car that is below 300whp and 250NM of torque.. The power created by the engine is simply too little to even bend the crankshaft..

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Jan 21 2012, 05:36 PM)
Stupid foreman dented my exhaust pipe. Where on earth did he learn to jack up a car at that point? Haish. You really need to pay attention at how the buggers do their work.
*
Damn mangkuk hell where got ppl jack up the car at that point one..

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Jan 21 2012, 06:01 PM)
Should not be much of a problem right? Just dented only..
*
Nope. Slight dent.. Wont create much of a problem..
