Can, but if u take 0w-30 engine oil, make sure u service ur car every 5k. Lower viscosity oil may cause higher wear rate on engine internal vital parts, so u may wanna keep an eye on that. My suggestion is try using Castrol Magnatec first, & feel the difference urself before going Edge. Different engine oil may be made differently and have different additives in them.
*
I didn't realize that Proton recommended at least a 40 oil according to the manual before. Once I used Syn 5000 0W-30 and only changed after 10K. icon_question.gif

The cheapest IT20 Denso Iridium I found online is RM150 including postage. Can you really notice the difference of using Iridium? Need some of your views before I plonk my $$ into this..

The Syntium family has a promotion right now. Quite nice since other brands seldom do this kind of promotion

Syn 5000 40 is ok, right? I know maybe not as good as Edge, but I'm tempted by the free gift. Went around surveying and Edge 40 is about the same as Syn 5000 price wise.

laugh.gif Never buy things based on the free gift. It is 40 weighted fully syn oil. Should be alright because lots of people here also using 40 weighted oil.
*
Haha. biggrin.gif I'm a sucker for free things. But definitely better than Helix Ultra right? Currently using that, without consulting you guys first. haish. Can't wait to get it outta my engine

Free gifts.. Never knew these promotions actually work & leave such a big impact on customers, until they're willing to push aside better products just to make way for the free gifts..

If u wanna get free gifts, might as well like Cavino said, go for something else that's 100% certified better than Synthium by members here and cheaper, then use the savings to buy what u like instead. At least u can choose ur 'free gifts' that way, not just stuck with typical gifts like umbrella & mugs.

Here in Sarawak, you rarely can get a good deal on spares bro. Most shops sell at RRP only. So offers like that can surely sway the decision of those who are looking for things. Most things sold online or bulk, especially lube will almost always exceed the RRP if you include postage. IF small things like spark plugs, still ok since postage cost not that significant. Almost all shops here sell Iridium at above RM200. It's hard to be a Campro enthusiast if you're not living in the Peninsular. cry.gif

Maybe because u haven't tried other engine oil? Try magnatec once & U'll knw the difference, feel the savings & lower noise & vibrations from engine...
laugh.gif see. Means 100% no good review la.

80K service. This is the first PS oil change since I bought the car. Forgot to do it at 40K. sweat.gif Brake fluid is the 2nd time. Extractor is caused by my itchiness to get more pick up. biggrin.gif
I did not do it all at once. Timing belt I did first at 77K. Outside workshop since SC refused to use Gates belt. I changed waterpump and aircond belt also. PS and brake also I did outside. I'll go SC to do the engine oil and ATF at 80K

QUOTE(Cavino @ Feb 6 2012, 04:46 PM)
The problem with castrol products are there are lots of fakes outside. Lots of spare parts shops carries fakes and lots of then can't even differentiate the fakes and the real themselves.

Lubes like havoline, idemitsu, syntium, etc have very little or no fakes as they are not widely available outside and only available on selected channels or shops such as petrol stations, etc.
*
The ones sold by the official Castrol Auto Shop should be genuine right? To be safe, just buy from them..

PE of cos going to stop production lah.. I dont think they are going to maintain it.. They are going to replace the PE..
Yup, I think so too. Of course right now they won't say that it will replace PE. Coz people will stay away and wait and avoid buying PE. They will continue selling and clearing stocks so that later on when the stocks are low, easier for them to discontinue

Quick question. Do we really need to use the engine cover? Coz I prefer the engine bay without the cover. Easier to check/clean anything

Standard replacement would be DIN55R.. But I would recommend using NS70 as its much bigger capacity and cheaper cos most of the sushi car uses that size.. Furthermore NS70 has been proven to be way more reliable than DIN series..

As always, can expect reliable replies from Zeng. rclxms.gif Thanks bro. Will note that. Nearly three years now. Need to start preparing for my stock batt to kaput.

Should be like this? BTW, how's the performance using this? Better than IAFM? And what about FC?

Oops, that's for 4G93. This is for Campro.

IAFM eliminates the torque dip at lower RPMs. I wonder if we use aftermarket intakes, the torque dip will return? Coz I only see those with the original Campro kosong using the intakes

The winter rating for engine oils doesn't really apply to us here right? So doesn't matter if I choose between Edge 0W-40 and 5W-40?
