does anyone know why all hybrid car like prius or CR-Z or Insight's butt looks about the same? all also tail high high and got a black mirror de
*
Correction: not all. The Lexus LS600h does not have that high butt shape, as well as the CT200h, the RX450h. Non-Lexus hybrids without that shape: Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Jazz Hybrid, etc.

The shape that you've mentioned is actually the Kammback shape, seen ONLY on Insights, Prius & CR-Z (for hybrids). Because majority of hybrids on the road are made up of Prius & Insights, many made the assumption that the Kammback is 'the' hybrid shape. As Zero mentioned, the shape is meant for aerodynamic.

lul, i dunno got so many car is hybrid in malaysia, lol

That's because we often associate Kammback shape with hybrids. When new hybrids without that shape comes out on the road also we just assume it's a normal fuel guzzler only.

Ori weight is 1.9kg..
LCP weight can never be below 1/3 of the ori weight, if not surely got problem such as crankshaft unblaanced etc..
Myth weight is 600 something gram, works is 632grams..
Myth is teeny weeny bit undersized, works is same sized.. Both also wont create any bad effect..
If u take like redline LCP then no really much improvements.. Cos its 900+ grams.. Not much weight savings..

Lighter LCP wont cause problem with ur crankshaft twisting..
The only problem is it will cause harmonic resonance at a lower RPM if ur engine is turbocharged..
IF u really want a super good crankshaft u can buy a new crankshaft used by the CFE engine and put it in our car.. 1.5k only.. Fully forged crankshaft.
*
Myth 632 grams. I weighed it before. Works slightly lighter if I'm not mistaken, next buyer please weigh it before installing then tell us..

Guys, need some input. I received my bolt on bullet to replace the catcon, which i ordered from lowyat.
I find it kinda heavy, and wondering the amount of stress to the engine block which holds it?
Is our catcon heavy?

Does it need to be supported by something? hmm.gif
*
Thanks for allowing me to do this.. I've got a question for you... *ahem*

Added on February 2, 2012, 12:48 amOn a more serious note, I'm not sure what you'd regard as heavy, but you don't have to worry about the weight of the bullet as the exhaust system is welded and supported, held towards the undercarriage to provide stability.. And it's not exactly that heavy.. And the paint doesn't matter. After driving for some time, the water (rain water) and exhaust heat will shed the paint off/turn it into powder, much like how a snake sheds its' skin.

*
Owh... They got proof ma? I never knew Continental was taken over by a Chinaman company. Ask the boss come out & secure this statement by putting his company's reputation on the line. If PE's ecu is indeed made in China (& CANNOT BE REMAPPED), I'll eat my own pubes. But if it's not, I want them noobs to close shop & never be heard again.

china made and design i think easily can remap..
*
If parts made in China, I can understand. What's not from china nowadays? If totally china made in the first place, it'd be easier to replace the whole ecu instead. (and I would've done that a long time ago)

Raimy, Urs is PE or Persona? If PE, it's continental. I'm not sure what the old generation 16 bit Persona use, tho, but I'd check under my dashboard before claiming it's siemens for all.

i read in proton press release last time..need to check from proton website..but i think they said the ems is protons, which they partnering with siemens for inputs..
*
Proton press release? It goes through a press agency, then? wink.gif

Just to clear some doubts, back in 2007 Continental has acquired Siemens VDO for a large sum of money. That still doesn't make the Continental ECU in our car, Siemens. It's like VW buying over Audi. Is Audi Volkswagen now?

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Feb 2 2012, 10:15 AM)
good, make sure you compare prices in mudah.my with te price outside. As for LCP, I only trust one source, which is from drex (EA). I dont mind the price, but installing LCP requires expertise. I've seen a few cars with LCP installed outside by some half bucket mechanic and the end result is a lot of weird noises coming out from the engine. doh.gif
nope. BLM second batch onwards (2009) all using Continental, no longer using Siemens.
*
Verified. I checked my gf's Saga BLM 2010 before, and it's indeed Continental.

I thought they are 'Proton trained technician'? The PE has been out for close to 2 years now, no? Still havent get the code?

Half-assed buggers simply claim without proof. No code = made in china. Got code = made in germany.

lol, a few forumer here offers to help me change LCP with charge, and they say is easy change, lol

Then the noise could be from ur passenger door side. Hidden pro ma. Noise fixing level : 9000. I already know almost every single noise from PE's interior & how to solve it.

*
Remove the woofer. Turn down the bass. whistling.gif

Or, soundproof all ur doors and the rear speaker deck. Use rubber washers when u're locking the door panel back in. Stick thin double sided tapes around bracket and moving parts; e.g. interior plastic door handle/power window panel, centre console, the silver rim around gearstick.

Then u have to come up with a solution that caters to ur own need. By soundproofing ur doors & panels ur bass will also become more solid & nice..

inside no rattling sound due to bass pumping..only at the outside expecially at the metal sound vibration....what annoys me more is the rear view mirror becomes blurry due to vibration..
*
Outside = door needs insulation. Remove visor. Stick a layer of double sided tape at the sides of ur Rear number plate.

Added on February 2, 2012, 12:28 pmAnd u can't do anything bout the rear view mirror. The mirror become blurry because the bass vibration is sent there via the car body & windshield. if u hold it then it'll be clear, so unless u got something else to channel off the vibration from the mirror, there are most likely no other solution for this.
