Hi all, its my 1st time doing jailbreak on my 4s. Im having a problem. i already dl absinthe. When i run the program it doesn't detect my phone device. I already connect it to my pc. is there anything i miss out .....to make the software to detect my phone ?

Snow breeze installed corona 1.0-5. So when I open cydia, it will call me upgrade to corona 1.0-8 version. As I know snow breeze 2.9.1 is untethered. But mine why is not untethered. It weird. Should I try simple
Mode instead expert mode?

hey guys, wan ask. any JB tweaks for ipon 4S to allow enabling of EDGE? i.e. like in ipon 4 we can choose whether to on EDGE or 3G, but in 4s only can enable 3G?

this means there is something wrong with your custom firmware. back to square one, download snowbreeze, install it again, cook custom fw and preserve baseband again, put ur device into pwned dfu using redsn0w. then SHIFT+RESTORE using itunes. it'll work. may i know what is ur current baseband? just to make sure. if its 1.59.00 then ure safe. if its > 1.59.00 u may want to consider of buying gevey sim to unlock it. other than gevey, there is NO way to unlock ur iphone if ur baseband is > 1.59.00

can close apps, respring,reboot too. check notification weather, data ip, storage and available memory

hehe ... another secret .. if you click 'more', scroll down the screen and click "app folders", you can check most of your apps address 

change carrier name using SBsettings?

oh .. ok. I spotted the problem already. Before this I have "cleanstatus" installed. It also has "create carrier name" setting (beta vers). So I remove it , respring and now I could see the carrier name.

What you mean with respring icon corrupted ?

When I set the carrier name, if I exit SBsettings it will automatocally respring (as there have been changes made that requires respringing) instead of the normal multi-colored circles or the dash circle, it was a square (like a QR code). It's no bother but just an observation.

I removed the carrier name (I'm not into that anyway) and when it re-springs, it was fine ... so probably some glitch.

Why pay for springtomize (I think it's a paid Cydia tweak right?) when a free tweak like SBSettings does the same thing?

What is the difference jailbreaking using RedSn0w or Absinthe?

1. Backup your iPhone on 4.3.3
2. Download the 5.0.1 firmware from iClarified (links in post #1)
3. Do a shift + restore -- no need to put it on DFU mode. How do I do Shift + Restore?
  - Open up iTunes
  - Connect your iPhone
  - Press the Shift Key and without releasing it press the Restore button in iTunes

4. Wait for the iPhone to restore
5. Once the restore is successful, run redsn0w 0.9.10b5 -- Guide to jailbreaking via redsn0w can be found in Post #1

Once jailbreak is successful, restore your backup

Once backup has been restored, redownload all your Cydia tweaks.

Yeah, I've restored my iPhone (again) this afternoon and re-run the jailbreak (again) and redoanloaded all my Cydia tweaks manually. Everything is peachy and I've set the Celular Data download in Store settings to OFF and also remove Appstore from 3G Unrestrictor. Now have to wait for 1st March before I can use data again ..... not a good month this February ....
