yeah like in my post, the hardreset worked the first time it happened to me, but now hard reset so many times and the problem is still there
but now i'm doing the full restore to ori ipsw and re-jbing again as advised by az and rath, we'll see how it goes, so far so good
once i started the restore my phone stopped going haywire hahaha

restored and it was fine, jailbroke again and it was fine
but now after the proper jailbreak (it went through completely fine), my cydia won't open! i click it, and it wont even open, just crashes
i used to latest absinthe version 0.4
if i want to re-jailbreak it, do i need to restore my ipsw again?! or can i just run absinthe again? will that work?

edit:
nevermind that last outburst, hmmm...rebooted my phone and cydia works now whistling.gif

Restore my backup ... everything was good (took 30 minutes with all the apps I had), deleted the stupid game again ...

Ran Cydia, BigBoss repo was down ... so had to wait until the morning before BigBoss is up and running again. Installed AptBackup and restored my Cydia apps .... tok 2 minutes and the phone rebooted. All my tweaks are there (yes success ... never tried this before so quite happy with the results).

Then I noticed that all my appstore apps are gone ..... What the Cuss .... so looks like this afternoon I have to do a fresh restore and do this all overe again ...

Note to self: need to delete that stupid game again ... damn.

hahaa my sister played that game on my iphone too, hasn't caused any problems to me so far, cant you just update the game through your itunes so that your kids can still enjoy it? smile.gif
oh btw im sure u know this already, but in my case, i turn off app updates/purchases with cellular data under the itunes store settings. would that help preserve your childrens happiness? tongue.gif

eh one more thing just to be safe, cause kids like to play and press, turn off the IAP option just in case too i guess az, or they might buy stuff from in the game

actually there's an even easier fix, just respring your phone, works for me and i think a few other ppl in this thread too

hey anyone know of a flashlight app that keeps the flashlight on even when the app is closed? but of course the app is running in the background
the thing is, i want to turn on the flashlight then go to a photography app, usually photography apps (e.g. photosynth or pano) they don't have flash function
so i wanted an app to turn on the flashlight then when i switch to the photography app the flashlight is still turned on
so far all the flashlight apps i have tried, when i open the app, the flash comes on, but when i switch to another app the flashlight turns off
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cos when i off 3G my memory left is always around 80mb...

haha i'm not sure about the memory left issue, but the battery drain is not there
without 3G (only on EDGE) my battery lasts so much longer even with all my cydia tweaks.

i think you mean tethered, or semi-tethered.
untethered means u don't need to re-jailbreak everytime u restart your phone. smile.gif

sorry but from what I've read, I think even if you have 5.0.1 SHSH saved, you can't downgrade to that
the only downgrade available is if you're using iphone 4 and you have saved your 4.x.x SHSH, then can downgrade to that
i don't think there's a way to downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.1 even with SHSH saved
i'm not sure whats the problem here, but i just remember that 5.1 can't be downgraded to 5.0.1

i haven't checked redmondpie today so i just glanced through the link you linked to me
and first thing that caught my eye is this:

"Important Note: Before you begin, keep in mind that the iPhone 4S cannot be downgraded to an earlier version of iOS, unless Apple is signing that particular firmware version to which you’re downgrading to. Only the iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1 and the iPod touch users can downgrade back to both iOS 5.0.1 (custom firmware only) and iOS 4.x as long as they have SHSH blobs and APTicket saved for the firmware they are downgrading to. iPad 2 users can only downgrade back to iOS 4.x as long as they have saved SHSH blobs for it. You cannot save SHSH blobs once Apple has stopped signing the firmware you want to downgrade to."

so once apple stops signing firmware for 5.0.1 you can't downgrade if you're using iphone 4s. problem is, i don't know if apple has stopped signing, that one i guess you need to search on google?
