ACCA way more higher salary than Sr. title for QS.
Average basic pay for fresh grad: QS (Consultant) - RM1800 - 2000 QS (Contractor) - RM2000 - 2200 Accounting - RM3000 |

but it is easier to get Sr title for QS than to pass ACCA exam right? So if i get Sr title for QS and I did not pass ACCA after 10 years. How would the salary be?

i'm not sure which one is easier.
if u already got your Sr title, then u can demand a higher pay or even set up your own company. but, it takes time la. 10 years++ btw, u still studying or just started to figure out which way to go? |

acturial science you need to study too many things like accounting, computing, economic, insurance, business, risk and statistics. And they study for 1 exam must take at least 400 hours each. And they overwork. I don't know how i know QS but at least I know QS is about building and math and I like it too. But not sure whether QS work in office or under the sun 1?

it depends. if you're working with consultant, most probably u'll be working in the office and just go to the site once a while.
if you're working with contractor and the boss locate u at the site, "welcome to the real world" |

it's not you're working under the sun for the whole day.
there is a site office, u'll do all your work there. just when u need to do the site evaluation/inspection, then only u go into the site. |

Most people who earn a lot of money also work long hours or very hard. But many people work equally hard and do not share such fortune. It's just how things work.
Accounting would be a good start for someone who is interested in working their way into and to the top of corporations, or in entrepreneurship (relative to QS). Even though it really is up to you (several famous and successful people, including musicians and actors, have been accountants by training), many CEOs/Managing Directors, CFOs, CROs etc and top leaders have been trained as accountants, probably far more than QS. But you probably won't be doing heavy maths in Accounting. Staring at numbers and financial statements, or using software/tables is not Maths. |

If you are under employment, Accountant better than QS.
But if you are an entrepreneur, then as a QS you will earn a lot more if you manage good networking and consistent flow of jobs. On a piecemeal basis jobs, QS pay definitely higher. |

QUOTE(JohnsonLoi @ Jan 16 2012, 05:07 PM) not sure about accounting. For qsing, again i still need to clarify that it is not just about math. Even a secondary student can do taking off if he/she has proper building construction knowledge. Some people might disagree, but IMO, i gonna say that QS is not about math. |
