Hi guys would like to know more...my contractor recommended installing a wall mount 6" exhaust fan......i think it is something similar to the kitchen exhaust fan..

I saw there are some in the market like AireGard...which sucks the air to the roof...but my contractor said the air or smell would be trapped between the ceiling and roof and may not be good.

Anyone has anything fans installed in their toilets,? perhaps can share some photos or ideas?

Thx

If it redirect to roof not only it will smell, but you transfer the humid up. Usually it come with ducting, and redirect to outdoor.

i have ducting for my ventilator, but my toilet does not have any windows... I think if your toilet has windows, it is still ok without ducting

if you toilet does not have windows, its a waste of time and money to install the ventilator without ducting

My upper toilet installed with greenwood ventalition fan and sucking out to the roof top.
Grd floor toilet installed with a 6inch pipe as ducting to the toilet connecting to ventalition fan too, hence it will sucked out to outside

If you on in too frequent, you transferring the humid up to the roof. Is better have a ducting to guide the toilet air out.

Hey all...

I m thinking of installing a Vent Fan at my Ground Floor toilet which of cos above the plaster ceiling is concrete ceiling....

My friend said it wouldnt be a problem installing a Ceiling Mount Ventilation Fan even if the top is concrete and he has done it for many years...no problems of mold or anything growing on the concrete...

Something like this ---> http://www.kdk.com.my/products-detail.asp?id=31

Has anyone done it before? I dun really want to install wall mount cos i need a ducting to go out...

Thx

That not issue on whether it was Wall or Ceiling mount, the main is where the air goes to?
Where your friend installed the ceiling mount at? Toilet or Living room (Pray area)?
Living Room covered by plastec ceiling whihc air could round on big area, but toilet plaster ceiling only a small area which not much place to goes, and due to the constained on air flow, the humming sound will be lough too...so best was a ducting to outside except on second floor where roof area around.

that all the bad air will only at the small area without going anywhere, as the ceiling and the plaster ceiling only max of 8 - 10 inch only, if big business the bad air still around...hahaha. than what the fan are for lol. Make sense?

The air goes up the plaster ceiling come down back to the toilet via downlights holes, wasted electricity.

Just wonder how the construction was approve for toilet without windows or air outlet? Even rooms without window is not legal.

When you have something like toilet without air outlet or ventilation you get sick not only you but the whole family members.

Hmm..wonder if I have Zync Sheets installed in the Roof....

1) Still Suitable to use ceiling mounted Vent Fans in the toilets? as I know..normally the ceiling vent fans will suck the air to the roof tiles...now with the zync sheet...wonder if still suitable?

i think as long as the air can escape, there is not an issue.
