QUOTE(majorsinbad @ Jan 25 2012, 04:32 PM) Yesterday I also notice quite a number of people using bigger tyre in front and smaller ones for the rear...wonder how it feels...is it because the front is where traction is more important? my two cents....apart from checking the pressure, weight positioning, i would look at the rate the crank is spun when climbing these technical and wet sections. if one is spinning too much on low gear, traction will be lost and that will cause wheel spin. a good rythmic pedalling pattern will ensure that you get maximum traction during these climbs. but I experienced wheel spin on my rear tyre during steep technical climbs...is because of the tyre..or too much weight was shifted in front? Added on January 25, 2012, 4:34 pm By the way...why didnt you like it? QUOTE(noprob @ Jan 25 2012, 10:33 PM) Guys i would take a look at merida, giant, scott and specialized entry level bikes as well.Is it Mongoose Tyax Comp a good bike to upgrade later on (groupset, brakeset) ? mainly we refering more to the frame right .. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Or wiser to sell back as stock bike , get the fund and buy a higher spec bike .. ? |

.my take solely based on kiara terrain. If you ride only DH route in kiara then 7 above. If wanna enjoy most of kiara 5-6 just about perfect. 6-7 needs some MTB.7 above is MTB for sure before downhill. Longer travel for pure downhill kaki.

QUOTE(majorsinbad @ Feb 7 2012, 10:23 PM) I think 5 inch ok la...like they say ...its not size that matters...its how you use it ...hehehe Blur lt , 575 or tracer. Nuff said. I'd go for blur lt as d bike for kiara. Can support 140-160mmActually a Yeti 575 is about RM500 cheaper than ASR5... But extra weight is a put off ... QUOTE(keyibukeyi @ Feb 11 2012, 04:13 PM) last time bought a cheapo giant atx for 1.8k, ride at taman and road only, haven't try it on trail, so i sell off becuase i dont like the idea of mtb cruising on road tarmac..i sked i made the same mistake again.., i think the group i join is the decison factor, anyway thanks..dilema you cant even decide road or mtb? gotta be kidding me. i do not have a roadbike as i use the MTB to do road....trails are anytime nicer than doing road. if you are into conditioning then road would be a better choice. |
