QUOTE(kaizer @ Feb 10 2012, 05:14 PM) The Avid rotors are round the same price as the HOPE rotors, why not get blings? Oh really? I always thought Hope brake components are on heavier side ...but powerful ...Added on February 10, 2012, 5:16 pmWhat's the reason behind the shimano rotor love? According to a friend who is using it, nothing to shout about wo? If you're running the 160~165mm rotor size, the HOPE's floaters are pretty WW. Can kaler matching samo Shimano? Well the only reason is because I want to match it to my brakes ...same same ...if I used Avid ...would prefer Avid disk ...that kinda thing la ... Will certainly consider a Hope disc then ... For now will live with the Aligator...after all its for the rear brake ...who uses rear brakes anyway |

QUOTE(timothyy @ Feb 14 2012, 03:46 PM) Yeah...get your LBS to do it ...And dont worry...as long as you properly take out the wheels and store it properly in the car ...Your parts will be safe.... How to store it in your car? I think common sense will be sufficient to guide you ... Put the gear side of your bike upwards away from contact... One thing I learned is ..your groupset plays a big role especially at trails like Kiara ... Gears and modulating your brakes will help you through the technical parts ... Thats why I leave it to the experts to maintain it |

Which is another reason why I don't consider > Carbon bikes at all (Im a bit apprehensive of its durability) > > Please advice. > > Thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Firdaus, At 105kg (approx 230lbs) both the Blur-LT Aluminum and the Blur-LT Carbon would be fine. In opposition to your general perception, we actually do recommend the Carbon version over the Aluminum for bigger/heavier riders. The Carbon version is actually stiffer (Laterally and Torsionally) and has a higher ultimate strength than the Aluminum version. The weight saving is an added bonus. Here are the details for both to compare - 2012 Blur-LT2 Carbon frame details *Full Carbon frame with one piece lay-up *140mm rear wheel travel *VPP multi pivot frame design *Recommended/Compatible with fork sizes 140 to 160mm (*Tapered) *Recommended rear max tire size 2.5" *Disc brake specific design, rotors up to 185mm *Frame weight with Fox RP23 Air rear shock - Approx 6.0lbs http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/blurlt_carbon 2012 Blur-LT2 Aluminum frame details - *140mm rear wheel travel *VPP multi pivot frame design *Recommended/Compatible with fork sizes 140 to 160mm (*Tapered) *Recommended rear max tire size 2.5" *Disc brake specific design, rotors up to 203mm *ISCG-05 chainguide mount *Frame weight with Fox RP23 Air rear shock - Approx 6.6lbs http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/blurlt Thanks for your interest in Santa Cruz, and let me know if you have any other questions.
